Players who quit early

Ok so one thing I believe Halo needs to fix is the issue of unbalanced teams in Matchmaking. Nothing is worse than when one or more of your partners back out of a game in Matchmaking. In COD players are able to jump in and out of games as the progress. Not the best solution because if you’re down half a team and other people jump in they may notice that you’re getting scrapped and back out, leaving you alone again. In Gears of War if somebody leaves a ranked game they are replaced with BOTs. WHich in all honestly isn’t that bad, but they are pretty stupid and end up always giving the enemy team easy kills.

I believe the best system would be rotations. Let’s say Red team loses 2 guys, so the game then becomes a 2v4(Red-Blue) match. What would happen is 2 Blue players are then forced to sit out until one of their partners dies. When one Blue dies one of the ones sitting out respawns. When another Blue dies the 2nd Blue respawns. And it just rotates them as they die and respawn. That way in the game it is never more than 2v2 and Red has an equal chance of winning. I would like to get the Halo communities input on this, and I hope 343i takes an interest as well.

1 quit = 10 minute ban.

I don’t care if you lag out, get booted or quit you deserve to sit out for 10 minutes because you screwed your team and made the game longer for both teams.

I have to agree, though the rotation system wouldn’t be good, because quitters would still make it bad for the other team. If they got someone else who was looking for a game to jump into, have them jump in instead of having them start another game. You know, give them choice, yes if they want to or no.

I don’t think quitters should be the only ones being punished. I agree they should be put on probation, but the ones in the game still are also being punished. They’re stuck playing a game they have no chance in winning.

While good in your intentions, I think your solution provides more of a reason to quit. PLayers want to play, not “sit out” and wait until someone else dies. I think a better solution would be this:

If two members of your team quit out, you should get 1 player from the opposing team. That way, it becomes a 3v3.

I have to disagree with that statement as I have been on both sides of the quitee and it doesn’t always make a victory any certainty just because of more players. Ive seen two-man teams easily handle 4-noob teams (and that includes me on the noob side of things) and I’ve been on the giving side of that issue as well.

Still, quitting is a pain int the -Yoink- and its something I refuse to do even if that -Yoink- is being handed to me in spades. Fun? heck, no, but still my one claim to pride in MM.

The only people I really see up in arms about the quit ban not being harsh enough are full party padders who have opposition frequently quit on them while they’re trying to stat pad especially by holding the objective.

Considering how badly some of these full parties behave to the randoms they match it’s little wonder said randoms don’t want to play full parties.

Ultimately the problem is Bungie’s fault because of the lack of party size/TrueSkill weighing in Reach.
