Should players be penalized for having no participation in a game at all?I’m talking about the people that literally just sit where they spawn and collect deaths…and when you leave the game you see them at the bottom of the board > Score:0 Kills:0 Assists:0 Deaths:32
That annoys the crud out of me…why even do it? All it does is hurt the team that was cursed to have you on it
We shouldn’t have to babysit in Halo haha
Go afk after a game and forget to back out of the post game lobby.
Have to jump up to answer the phone and get stuck away from the box.
Being a jerk.
Any number of reasons. And they are penalized for it in the form of a ban.

They should, not sure the best way to deal with them though.
Had 2 guys just sitting in ctf game (5v5) so it was actually 3v5. It’s funny though that we could have easily won…but i lost my temper and betrayed each of them…5-10 times each…they came back at end of game and booted me as I was running the flag with less than 30 seconds left lol (yea i know my fault, but still). My friend said we only got the tie and not the win.
I want an auto-boot after 3 minutes of no activity…or a vote option to boot players on my team after 2 minutes of no activity or something.
I know there can be very good reasons for it…I just tend to think most people are jerks…along the same lines as while I’m assassinating someone and a teammate comes along and shoots the crap out of who I’m assassinating…and the obvious betrayals …I didn’t know there was a ban on it actually…but a boot after a length of inactivity would really suit better imo…it actually gets the work done first time…give it a good time limit…like 2 minutes…problem solved…just hope another person joins the game
Yes. I’m a strong proponent of punishments for AFKing/AFCing and quitting. Quit bans and XP bans (are there any) aren’t enough.
If there’s one thing 343 should consider that COD has, it’s booting people for inactivity.

Yes exactly! I mean it’s not hard to say " ok…we have people AFCing…we should create a 2-3 minute grace period and boot after that time" It would save a lot of messed up games imo…I’ve lost plenty of games due to the fact that my team has 2-3/4-5 and the other team has a full team…it’s insane lol
I know this is not the answer that anyone wants to hear, but I can think of a dozen good reasons for quitting a game and you’ve just added no. 13 to the list. There is no reason for you to put up with that garbage no matter what the reason may be for the afk. And don’t say, “but I don’t want to get quit banned.” You won’t get quit banned. You have to quit every single match for days on end before they politely ask you to go play spartan ops for sixty minutes and “think about what you’ve done.” You will NOT get quit banned.
I have to admit, I agree. I’ve ran into so many AFK’ers lately that I ended up stop playing Halo 4. Hopefully 343 enforces the ban length or at least give the Afk’ers a 24 hour ban for not participating. Then again, that’s up to them to decide.

I don’t know that you proved anything except that its important they ensure a quality matchmaking experience by appropriately handling things like this.

While that may solve the problem…I don’t like quitting games…I know I’m the original poster for this fit of complaints but I’m just not into quitting games…it’s more of a “they should put boots in games for inactivity” for me
