Players vs waives of mobs?

Hi,
In Halo reach there was a pretty interesting multiplayer game option - players vs rising difficulty waves of mobs. That game option was pretty interesting, especially when mobs were using tanks and other machines against you.
How do you think, is it possible to add such multiplayer category in Halo Infinite?

First off welcome to the community. Secondly are you referring to Firefight?

tnx.

Yep, yep. I have spend a lot of hours playing this. In fact it was my favorite. It also had rating system, and at some point difficulty became pretty hard.

Yes firefight was first introduced in Halo 3 ODST but Reach did feature a very fun firefight experience. I would imagine that at some point firefight will come to Infinite though co-op and forge currently have top priority. Maybe we’ll see it sometime around season 4 or 5.

It better come out by Season 3 if 343 even wants an active playerbase.

Well co-op is slated for season 2 and forge is slated for season 3 so I doubt we’ll get firefight before season 4. Hopefully I’m wrong though.

Okay but:

  • Who says they should release 1 feature per season? And how long is a season? If it’s gonna be as long as Season 1, this pace is unacceptable.
  • Firefight basically already does exist due to campaign assets, there is literally nothing wrong with dropping players into a map to play Firefight with.
  • Co-Op is not a valid update content ever, if all they’re bringing to Season 2 is Co-Op, this game will die.

We’ll see what 343 brings to us in Season 2, and see if they’re holding back on content that can be released NOW even. It is absolutely unacceptable to hold content hostage in the name of live service, especially when these features should have been live on launch. Features like Forge in particular does not need a Season to release in, it needs to be added as soon as it’s ready.

Yes. This method of Firefight is a lot better than the timed kill all the enemies and bosses mode in Halo 5. I did play a lot of that but I prefer the challenge from having limited lives and set piece maps.

Although I will say I preferred the ODST version over Reach’s.

True, I’m just saying this because at their current pace and with the game being almost unplayable in it’s current state I doubt it would release early. But like I said I hope I’m worng.

Absolutely, you think it’d be an easy addition into the game but we’ll see how it all plays out. So far firefight hasn’t been mentioned at all. Least not to my knowledge.

I agree. Co-op should have been featured at launch. My assumption is we’ll get new maps and game modes. (That also should have been featured day one)

Overall Halo is not in a very good place. Halo 4 was controversial but it wasn’t that far removed from Halo Reach really and was a decent Halo game. But everything after that has just been horrible. There needs to be a major restructure at 343 and Microsoft game studios upper management.
