Players quitting games are still an issue

Did any of you notice this too? do you know if 343i implemented some type of ban or anything?

nothing that I have heard.

With not much of a deterrant in place for quitting these days, it makes it easy, so why not? (I don’t condone quitting)

I played 4 or 5 matches of Halo 3 BTB in the last few days. Ended 2 matches with only 4 people on my team. Never ended a match with a full roster. Quitting is cancer that needs to be punished like H3 xbox 360 days.

It is a massive issue, people leave constantly. I think that they should implement the same strategy league of legends does, where if you quit you have to wait till the game is over to play a new one. And perhaps add on additional penalties after quitting more than 3 times in the next 6 hours. Perhaps even lump frequent quitters together, its rather frustrating honestly, I mean I’m good, but I’m not 1v8 good lol.

Try utilising Xbox’s Looking For Group feature to find a group to go into matchmaking with. If you don’t queue with a full group you’re almost guaranteed to have your match ruined by quitters at this point. At least if you queue as a group you can (almost) guarantee that the quitters won’t be on your team.

They acknowledged in a previous update that they will be implementing penalties for quitters. I think they are focusing on stabilizing the game and population before putting out punishments. I, for one, would support them removing the region locking so players in other countries can get in before worrying about quitters. As much as they annoy me.

I got an idea, instead of punishing players that are leaving, find out why they’re leaving and then try to correct that issue. I’m not saying there aren’t a few bad eggs here and there, but if there are a lot of people quitting, it’s time to look at yourself and see about uncovering the overall issue and address it.

My problem is the playlist. I know they’re going to be updating the playlists, however the playlist I want to play is Halo 2 Team Slayer, and nothing else and this may not even be possible because the team slayer playlist looks like it will require all 4 Halo games to be installed, which is problematic for me, as I only want to play Halo 2’s MP. Forcing player to play modes they don’t want is going to cause people quitting. I played 3 matches and two of them were game types that I did not enjoy so I quit, and then took the game out and never put it back in. I will check in periodically to see if things changed but if I can’t play straight team slayer then I just won’t play. This game has been a great waste of money because of the playlist issue.

I can take losing. You can’t win all the time. The team slayer game I actually got to play, we got our -Yoinks!- handed to us but it’s the mode that I like and I still enjoyed it, because I WAS PLAYING THE MODE I WANTED TO AND LIKED! You expect people to have a good time when you force people to play modes they don’t like, and they end up getting dominated in those modes, of course they’ll quit. And then you add a penalty on top of that, players will never come back and the game will be even more dead. It’s like spanking a child over and over and not talking with them to find out what is the issue and why they keep doing it. You’ll get nowhere.

People quit more now. Voting shouldve never been removed.

They’re not quitting at the beginning of the match. They’re quitting when they die immediately or because they’re losing. So your playlist, map, gametype theory is shot. They’re selfish.

no, it’s not shot. You’re not thinking about every variable, just the one you want. Maybe they thought "ok since I’m here I’ll try CTF, it’s not what I wanted to play, but I don’t have a choice, might as well stick around and play this mode that “I DO NOT LIKE”, then start to do terrible because they’re bad at said mode and then say “well forget this, I’m out of here”.

You ever think of that? Or will you continue to be close minded and not accept that not everyone wants to play random game types. It’s like you didn’t even read my entire post, but just what you wanted to read. You blatantly skipped over the part where I said “You expect people to have a good time when you force people to play modes they don’t like, and they end up getting dominated in those modes, of course they’ll quit.”.

I guarantee a lot of the quitting has to do with people not being able to play which modes they want. I just loaded up the game and yeah they have a slayer list but you need to have all Halo MP games installed just to select it. That is not how I want to play this game and I’m many others as well. I specifically want to play Halo 2 Team Slayer only. FFA on TDM have been a staple in shooters since the beginning, I don’t know why these lists are omitted.

The way they have the playlists setup is honestly a joke.

I do tend to see more people quitting or going AFC when we get game modes like Team snipers or Assault as example. So a penalty for quitting Ranked should implement a penalty for quitters and AFC, and for more socials playlist let another person join a game in progress and try to fill the void… as someone mention above let people play only Slayer in every Halo game.

Oh you didn’t know?

Nothing much that can be done for dash boarders. 343 has to implement some form of detecting dash boarders and ban them if they do it too many times. I’ve always wanted some form of preventative measure, you get into a game, you can’t quit. However, MS makes it so you can Exit the entire game with seems to be a last resort for gamers who want to quit out and not play the game. Hope 343 can find a way to detect these people and ban them for a while. I know they will ban you for inactivity and not making any kills while in a game. Happend twice on me while getting achievements on match making games.

yeah, yesterday I made a post about it as soon as Tommy Kost reported the glitch; it was immediately locked and put in a h5 section where nobody could see it

Since the update came out, I have never finished a single game without players who quit.
Not only in BTB, where usually matches finish with 12-14 people in total, but also in ranked halo 3!

I wonder what is going to happen today…
