Penalties for players who leave.
When players quit the game, apply experience penalty directly, lower a rank by abandoning three matches.
Apply a penalty for abandoning 5 consecutive games, losing legendary supplies, losing 3 permanent legendary supplies (helmets, armor, visors and badges).
When two players are left alone, and the opposing team outnumbers. The two players must be allowed to join other players. If a player is left alone, and the opposing team surpasses him, two to one, three to one or four to one, to be able to unite players.
Penalty to players leave the game, down sr and loss of two ranks csr.
Players who do not abandon the game, does not lose csr rank.
OHHHH HELLLLL NOOOOO
Players leaving deserve to get penalized. In most cases, it was their decision to abandon the game and leave their teammates in the dust. They should know full and well what will happen to them if they do that. I realize sometimes it comes down to lag or other IRL problems getting in the way, but IMO that should be dealt with before or after you get in the game, not during. Hell, It’s gotten so bad to the point where I feel like the “quit” option should be removed from matchmade games entirely (except customs/forge). You want to play, you’re damn well gonna finish it.

I almost never quit games either. Unless I’m getting spawntrapped and there is absolutely no way I can fight back. (Ie can’t even shoot my gun before being killed) You don’t want to know…
Seems more of a way to punish the team that has no quitters if you ask me.
A long time ago, I made a suggestion that I still passionately feel should be implemented.
If you leave a game, whatever RP you would have received at the end of the match is deducted from your RP balance. This amount is distributed amongst team mates who finished the game.
Your RP balance can not fall below -500, and reaching this balance does not prevent team mates who finish the game from being granted bonus RP.
So each team will receive a damage bonus and sanctions when someone quits? That doesn’t sound good at all. You’re basically punishing people for no reason other than not quitting which doesn’t make sense and giving the quitting team an advantage with a damage bonus.
Your post was a little hard to follow so I could be wrong in what your points were.

Totally agree, I’m still pissed about always ending up in mid-progress rounds because I mainly solo queue.
Nah, if a player leaves and that team gets a damage boost is just silly. How would that be fair at all? It can’t. Players who leave on purpose should be penalized.
Bonus can vary
In matches where a player is only against an entire team, I think it is fair as he is only one player against four.
Imagine being alone and having to fight four, receiving a bonus of increased damage, to have an oppotunity not to be crushed.

But then what have the damage boost last a minute? Then what happens? That guy is going to still get destroyed by that team.

No need to triple post.
This actually happened to me the other day. I was in Halo 4, playing Heavies, and my teammates left one by one. By the end, it was one on 6, with 2 minutes or so left. I hid behind a rock.

That would be nice, but it would also punish people with bad internet connections. Blackouts, too. Not every dc is purposeful.
I think it is unfair punishment for having technical problems with your internet company
But need to considerate the circumstances
If their team is loosing and a player abandon apply penalty, but not on reqs, maybe was buy Whit cash, so apply on exp, if abandon again the penalty need to be higher.
I agree punish the maggots for lacking the confidence to fight the good fight!
Messing with damage/shield/weapon mechanics is probably not a good idea. I can understand the immediate appeal, but this games stakes way too much on the concept of balance for this to be do-able. It almosts seems like a “two wrongs make a right” proposition.
As for the exp/rank penalties for quitters… you proceed under the assumption that all players care about SR and CSR. I could be wrong, but I think that’s a mistaken assumption. I also think that in a way you’d be baiting people into bad behavior. Tempting contempt, or some such. I could be wrong, but there’s a reason why Halotracker used to have a leaderboard for most quits and doesn’t have it anymore.

I don’t know why it is not possible in Arena to join when a match has already started. So many times the game already starts 4v3 because one person realised too late he had to leave for dinner/work/school/whatever. And after that it will not take long before it is 4v2 or 4v1.
Anyway, it would be so easy if 343I would just do an experiment where people would be able to join a started Arena match.
Giving players outnumbered in a match bonuses is the last thing we need.
There’s already soft forfeits. Punish the players who leave first, not those who leave after them.
here is an idea…take away the option to leave a ranked match. PERIOD.
