Players Constantly Quitting Out

In my last three Team Arena matches, I’ve had 1 or more teammates quit out. I’m so tired of not only losing the match and looking terrible KDA wise, but also having to sit through the entire match and get absolutely destroyed the entire time. Something needs to change. I should be able to:

  • Quit out with no penalty after my teammate(s) quit out.
  • Not be penalized “CSR-wise” if a game is completed without a full team (which is the most important of the three)
  • Have the game not count towards KDR, because we all know how unfair Halo is when outnumbered.
Before anyone says, just run with a team, that is rarely possible for me being that all my friends hate what this game/community has become. I love this game, I’m never going to stop playing Halo, but this whole teammate quitting out in every game I play is just overly frustrating and I had to post about it.

May be more so a vent post than a discussion post, I just wish something would happen to save people who don’t quit out.

I think the banhammer should be harsher on quitters. And I also think 343i needs to look into a more sophisticated banning system that is able to better tell between quitters and connection errors. Sorta like the system Destiny has.

It seems like some days the quitters run rampant and i see a quitter every other game and then other days I can go 10 matches straight without a quitter.

Something definitely needs to be done with the way matches are handled when players quit. It’s completely unfair that the players that do the right thing and continue playing, even though they are now outnumbered, have their stats and playlist ranking negatively affected.
If a player leaves a match, it should not have a negative impact for the losing team- they lost in an unfair match. The winning team should still be rewarded as normal- often they were already winning which is why the player/s quit, but the losing team should be unaffected, because there is always the possibility that if the player/s had kept playing they may have made a come-back and taken the win.

I also feel that the penalty for leaving a match should be more severe- if you quit out, you should receive a 10 minute ban, every time, as well as having a loss and negative stats recorded. If a player is dropped from a match due to a server connection issue, the game needs to be able to recognise this, and attempt to immediately return them to the match with the stats they had when they were dropped. If the current system is unable to tell whether someone was dropped back to the lobby due to a server problem, then this ability needs to be added if at all possible.
The two things that currently frustrate me most are having players leave and being left to play an unfair match, and then being penalised for a loss, and those occasions when for whatever reason I or one of my friends I’m playing with are dropped because of a server issue, leaving the others stuck playing a match where they are outnumbered, and the player who was dropped having to wait for the match to finish to join back up with their friends, and possibly being banned.

And don’t get me started on the servers, why on earth are server disconnections such a common occurrence? In a game where the online connection is an integral component, it is ridiculous that we are having to put up with the current sub-par performance.
One memorable occasion, I had been working on a forge map for about 4 hours, completely forgotting to periodically save, when I suddenly lost my connection, losing all the work I’d done during that time. If it had been a problem with my internet connection, or my Xbox, it would have been just as annoying, but my own fault for forgetting to save.

I have played a ton of games in Titanfall, and can you guess how many times I’ve been dropped from a match because of a server connection problem?
Zero. Not once.
If Respawn were able to achieve this a few years ago, how is it that 343, who are owned by the very company that produce the console, are unable to give us the same thing?
I’ll openly admit that I’m certainly not an expert on this sort of thing, perhaps there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation, but I really just don’t get it.

Quitters are so annoying! Even in hopeless matches I won’t quit out coz I know how frustrating it is to be on team that’s a man down.
The easiest solution is just to have players who quit have that match count as a loss with their csr taking a hit.

That’s why I don’t play doubles because there is that 50/50 shot that your teammate is gonna quit out. And I played a game of strongholds earlier and two on my team quit and I lost 18 csr points! How is that even fair?

I got kicked due to a server issue and I got hit with the banhammer but I would put money down saying that kids who quit 2/5 games don’t get banned. Drives me crazy.

They need to just add a casual list for everything so when people that aren’t playing with a full fireteam people can just join when game is in progress if the game isn’t full

This is especially prevalent in Doubles. I find people quit more and more in doubles. Which lowers my ranking because its, do I stay and get the salt beat into my wounds. Or do I quit and get the banhammer. Beyond that Doubles seems wildly unfair. As its been pairing me against Champions and Platinums. While I, the lowly Gold 1, who got deranked to Silver 6 because I lost a game because a teammate quit out. Gold 1 try to out beat a Champion and Platinum because my Unranked or low ranked Silver 1 teammate cannot keep up.

That or in Doubles people don’t seem to understand the concept of, not rushing out is sometimes a good thing. Consider yesterday, on Molten. I hate Molten. I feel Red has unfair advantage. Teammate kept rushing top. But Red had control of top. Of course you’re going to die and die and die and die over again. Maybe you should slow down, and try to lure them out. Make them come to us. Take advantage of where they aren’t controlling. Nope teammate quit. I took the -Yoink!- way out and hid for most of the match.

Not gunna lire I’ve quit out of matches before. Usually its because I don’t like dealing with players who lack common sense… So instead of getting pissed off I quit. Oh well oif I get banned guess I’ll be play another game…
