Hey 343 industries, first to everyone, a big thank you for Halo 4. I must admit I am very impressed and love your style.

I have noticed some misbehavior from my fellow gamers that is to some degree breaking the “spirit” of Halo 4.

I have noticed some gamers use mouse/keyboard rather then controllers; this makes things uneven and shatters the balance in matchmaking as a mouse has far more freedom and far easier to lazily point and shoot as oppose to what Halo 4 was meant for. (actual skill to some degree with the “limits” for the experience of console play)

I have noticed a few gamers modding, while I support 100% modding for single play and even co-op in many games, in competitive multiplayer like Halo 4, its straight out cheating; examples; full auto aim (shoot to the wall yet magically head shot someone behind you; in this case they aren’t even trying to hide it) ; similar issue that Mouse/keyboard causes.

Another mod being used is for example turning the DMR into a mini gun; modding found often in the COD games. Also encountered in Halo 4 recently.

I have also noticed a few gamers “glitch” their routers to cause everyone else to lag.

I know you guys have your hands full so I am just notifying you, but I am sure you all are aware already. As a kind reminder, these issues are breaking the spirit of Halo 4 and of the simple fact of us being able to have fun.

To all my fellow gamers, it really falls in our responsibility to stop cheating and violating the spirit of competitive play with one another so I beg those tempted and doing such things to please stop. As tempted as it may be, it does indeed ruin the joy of the game and we should know better than this. The whole point of competition is to 1) reflect each other to show areas we can not only improve in skill but simply reflect our expression and greater insight. 2) to actually have fun and joy playing together. Cheating, especially in this way breaks the entire spirit and purpose of this, so again I plead with everyone to please hold off from the temptation and lets allow ourselves to enjoy playing Halo 4.
If sensitivity is an issue, get a scuff controller with upgraded sticks, with some practice that should substitute instead of mouse/keyboard for example. for other issues just please refrain from doing such things; (in regards to multiplay anyways)

i havent seen any of that, the only cheat dbag ive seen was that GOV kid with the headless spartan, things like that def ruin the fun

How do u notice someone using mouse/keyboard?lol
and ive never came across cheaters so far who are modding or whatever making it lag or whatever u accuse them from, and i have +5days played so far.
just get better kid

I have a keen eye and there are ways in noticing some of these things; but I have only started noticing it recently every few 5-6 games. More so in specific gametypes. I never falsely accuse anyone of anything, if i say it, it’s cause I caught them red handed, just to clear that up. I would also like to note, I am not a kid, and I am in the Video Game industry myself. I say this to imply, that things like this can and has often times caused some backlash/extra hardship to developers themselves and the gaming community. A simple call for mutual respect and good sportsman ship/maturity is not something to hush away.

eh controllers are controllers no matter what. but ive only seen a few lag switchers. and honestly they need it.

oh, to answer previous question,

Wall hacks, its a JTG hack that allows user to see through walls at all times however i have only encountered this 2 so far.

Full Auto aim, also a JTG hack and/or modded controller, it allows user to always aim at head without touching stick or barely moving it, ive encountered that one about 5 times.

Mouse/keyboard, that one is the easiest to catch, it causes many issues with not only kill cam, but ingame as the engine and design of game was not made for such sensitivity. This one takes a good eye to catch. But I understand PC gamers which is why I suggested Scuff controllers has they upgrade should more than make up for their frustration with the default Xbox controller.

The COD hack, turning the DMR into mini gun for example, thankfully I’ve only encountered it once, Im sure the individual got a warning to not do it again.

the last one is messing with one’s router to cause other players to lag considerably however 343 is already on that and so far has drastically decreased other from doing this, This one though is the one I encounter the most and have unfortunately encountered it 20+ times. But with due time, I am sure others will stop doing such things… One can hope no?

I understand your point but, things like this hurts users by capping their ability to improve, with practice and taking the time to creatively and constructively reflect on past games does indeed help players, I use to be very bad myself, and finally was able to improve with dedication/Witt/Mindfulness, and Creativity. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

As for controllers, Im assuming your talking about the scuff controllers i mentioned?

The xbox 360 defualt controller doesnt respond 100% to players when moving analog stick,its an easy matter fixing that with them, or if one knows how to do it them self. Added grip, to controller, and sticks, it makes a very big difference, at least for those who are into higher sensitivities and want better response. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Today i saw what seemed to be a hack. There was a guy with the energy sword in wreckage, but he somehow had the speed boost at the beginning of the game, so he was pretty much destroying everyone. No i wasnt lagging he had the bluish aura around him so he did have speed boost. I have no idea how he got it since there were only 2 kills in the game.

To be honest… were you watching Killcams for this? Because the Killcams are all abysmal and show this all the time.

na, i already know about the kill cam issue. However thankfully i’ve only encountered that one 2 :slight_smile:

I had some obvious cheaters last night in a CTF complex game.

We were losing 4-3 and i was about to cap us the 4th cap to tie the lead.
Just as im about to run over the deliver point and score (out flag also still in our base being defending well, the game goes to black screen, No body quit the game, all players still in the match, this screen stays on for about 30 seconds before going back in game.

When the games back up, I no longer have the flag, its spawned back at their base, and the score is still 4-3 and i also notice our flag has been taken and is half way across the map, literally about 10 seconds later, they cap the flag and we lose 5-3.

Unfortunately i forgot the save the reply of the match due to my friend coming online and moving to BTB with him.

How do you know what he is seeing? You don’t. There is cheating in the game, not all the time but here and there. Maybe the ban hammer get’s them maybe it doesn’t. Just because you haven’t seen it doesn’t mean it’s not happening. Get tired of these trolls that think they know everything about the game. Probably cheats himself.

I am a dedicated halo follower, and i can honestly say that yes, there is major cheating going on within halo 4 match making. i have proof, in this file share, (proof that this game is crap) the video will speak for itself, the guy (focalnose) has super spartan powers, he can fly, rapid fire weapon, instant death for all.

Not very constructive to just call someone a cheater because they disagree, how do we know you’re not a bad making excuses? Take it easy.

  2. Wrong forum, this belongs in the matchmaking forum.

I do like the maturity of the OP though, if you’d like to discuss cheaters then please create a new thread but don’t single out any gamertags as this is against the forum rules.
