Players blending in with environment

Yes I don’t like the outline and makes it hard for me to quickly calculate it as a person etc.
What I’m offering as an idea is no glow for enemies, but all players have a sort of outer halo to differentiate them from the environment.
I can’t remember which Battlefield it was bit they had a similar problem and solution if anyone can remember? I think it was 3/4/1.

The glow / outline feature should only exist if the spartan was spotted manually with the callout button, and then they will only maintain the outline / hologram looking red glow as long as one of your teamates has direct line of sight. Having any shining red beacon for players to shoot at takes the fun out of actaully using covert movement and being careful. Spartans should not pop out like neon lights.

If anything it’s too easy to spot players, if you see a big glowing red blob (or whatever color you set) shoot it.
simple, not sure what your issue is.

It’s like coloring in! Aim between the lines!

Depending on how close you are, the outline fades/shrinks or whatever, and then they just blend in. Maybe it’s just the way my brain works but when I see the red outline, my brain has to see red, recognise it as an outline of a player and not something else, and then it sort of fills in the gap and then I recognise it as an enemy player, whereas with previous Halos, it’s all just there right in front of you. You’re on blue, anyone not blue is bad etc.
Sorry if this is confusing, it’s confusing for me to explain, but I hope you get what I mean.
TLDR: My brain takes longer to recognise the outline as an enemy whereas previous Halo games it’s a lot easier.

I feel like with the outline system and the shimmer that happens when people aim long distance weapons it’s actually easier than ever to spot enemies, a little too easy. If anything, I think it should be harder to spot enemies.
