I’ve seen a couple people over the years with either “ODST” or “3” on their playercard, and I’ve always wondered how you get it. Is it something to do with the legacy? If anyone can help that would be great.

Hey OP. These were called Nameplates are were available back when Bungie was running Halo. You could achieve and set various different nameplate for completing various Halo related tasks - ones for completing / owning various Halo games, special ones granted by Bungie and forever my favorite the Halo PC nameplate which needed a valid key from a copy of Halo CE for PC. Support for namplates stopped and were locked once Bungie ended their time with Halo, whatever plate you had set would be the one you kept. That aspect of Reach wasn’t transferred over to 343 so there’s no way to change them now.
It was when Halo franchise use to belong to Bungie. If you player one of the halo or connected to Bungie’s Halo page it gove to you one of those marks.
