I have never been so disgusted with the halo 5 players as I was last night… for all of the players that are so immature and the lack of respect for other players … as I have a 3 xbox set up in my game room and as a family I play with my wife and kids in firefight warzone the fact that other players will run someone over and their buddy runs over and teabags them the whole game doing it repeatedly with a different person so they don’t get kicked … then sends messages to that person with rude comments. … yeah I will never again allow my kids or my wife to play this game ever again … as it was them that was getting total disrespected…
Welcome to the internet. I don’t think the real issue here is players having a lack of respect for each other. The real issue is that there’s no good way to stop them from doing things like this. There will always be people who team kill or do other unsportsmanlike things in online games, but there needs to be a good system in place to combat this. Unfortunately, no system is perfect and so as I mentioned, there will always be people who do this. It’s just part of the game in the same way that there are people with no respect for others out in the real world.
players like that are in all the games, then you dont allow to your kids and wife play any game
The internet is a strange place, but it’s also one where bad apples can crop up every now and then. A true shame that your family had to endure this. Please send them my sincerest regards.
I agree with you all… I know gaming can get little rough sometimes …
Me myself can handle the -Yoink!- and the rude comments. Its just as a father I want my kids to enjoy game time and respect other no matter skill level and so on… … in a why I’m glad it happened … so they now know how its feel to do stuff like that to people … so now they’re encouraged not to do it … … just one life lessons…

I hate the internet. Only respect real life
Yea, unfortunately as many have said before, there isn’t really a way people from being -Yoinks!- online, and while it wouldn’t really present a good solution to the problem, massacring the twits can be fun.

More of the internet bud. There will be no online game where you won’t get trolled like that. At least none I’ve seen
You can block those players in FF if they annoy you. I’ve found that stuff like that only happens every once in a while so you shouldn’t let it deter you from letting your family play it.
The issue you bring up won’t be one exclusive to Halo 5. You’ll find -Yoink- in any/every online game community.
If you got sent messages that were rude, insulting, vulgar, etc., report those messages via Xbox Live. Unlike changes to a players Live reputation, communication bans are generally applied quickly and can be applied for single infractions.

Yes, if someone faced me in real life and had the choice to either be respectful or turn into a vegetable, they’d choose to respect me.
Unfortunately the anonymous nature of the internet has made respect something of rarity. There will always be bad apples within a community, it’s not just a Halo problem… Don’t let the exception ruin your experience.

How is making fun of someone with Treacher Collins syndrome constructive in any way at all?
You must be new to online gaming because stuff like that can and does happen in pretty much all of them. You will run into toxic players from time to time. Just block them and move on, report them as well if you like although I don’t think it does that much good. But blocking seems to make it so you won’t match with them anymore. At least that has been my experience.
Just be like “kids…see that guy? Nobody likes that guy.”

Perfect absolutely perfect
But that’s not just halo it’s every community of gaming the worst I’ve found is call of duty though
So fragile.
I’m gonna be the devil’s advocate here, but if this was such a big deal why wouldn’t you all quit that particular game. Also if you are that concerned with the messages then why would you not have your settings on the Xbox be so your kids can’t even receive messages from people who aren’t friends? Or at least turn off notifications.
I think it is kind of drastic not to play from one bad experience. Maybe teaching kids that stuff like that can roll off your back instead of overly dramatic reaction never to play the game again, and post about it.
Unfortunately, -Yoink- happens. You either deal with it or quit. Either way, if people are intentionally being dinks, you can report and move on.
