Player Population

I have a feeling that the player population has been increasing. The last few days I think I have seen some of the biggest noobs on the planet between not knowing where to cap a flag to the wasp being the scariest thing in the world.

This is good news in that there is more player and bad news is holy -Yoink!- how hard is it to see where it says to return the flag?

I think i was in that BTB match with you where our teammate tried to cap the flag at our flags position and not in the base… I even tried to tell him where to cap it in chat, dude didn’t even listen… That was realy disapointing.

Yes that was def the one. It’s crazy but I have seen more and more new player type stuff which like I said is a good and bad thing. Eventually all good.

It’s really not. TA showing activate popular games and it’s going down in leader boards every time I’ve checked and I’m checking Steam too and it’s officially lost a majority of the playerbase and is now sitting on 3k. I think population goes up sometimes at peak times but off peak it basically looks like population is nearly dead on Steam while Xbox population is doing ok but there’s no telling how long that will last.

So it’s scary how close Halo has dropped to Battlefield 2042 player levels.

Steam numbers are incredibly biased.
Halo was never big on PC compared to Xbox. The market on steam is oversaturated, and Steam Halo users make up a small percentage of total players. Steam numbers don’t account for users via gamepass, or using the windows store. They also don’t factor in the Xbox players.

The only thing scary about this whole thing is how a bunch of Halo fans think obsessing over 1 number and screaming ā€œdead gameā€ will make anyone want to play with them,

I’m sorry but that’s nonsense. Steam is one of the biggest markets on PC. You can try to act like it’s bigger on console but the fact remains that it failed on PC’s biggest market place and is going into decline on TA for ā€˜all xbox’ active accounts for Halo Infinite. 269K is never a small number no matter how you try to rationalise and in fact most normal people see that as a failure. Drop in population is expected over time but not this fast. Halo Infinite is not immune to complaints/criticism just like neither is BF2042.

No what’s ā€˜scary’ is people you who think no matter what 343i does is somehow a success even if it’s a drastic decline that no reasonable person would think is ok because that 272k population down to 3k is somehow is not ā€˜ok’. That’s just bad business and you know it. It’s not ā€œdead gameā€ but it certainly not ā€˜booming’. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
