I agree with everything except the outline system imo it works the others on the otherhand do not fit
It needs to go away entirely. It’s a useless mechanic that doesn’t need to be here, other than to appeal to Call of Duty and Battlefield fans.
Snipers were never a problem in prior games. Players who knew how to play the game, knew the counterplay.
As for the outline system, I would say I would pay good money for them to just give us traditional Red vs Bue, but I think 343 might actually run with that idea…
I’d say no scope glint. Keep the ammo count low so it’s not op but seriously what’s the point of being a sniper if everyone and their mother can see you from a mile away. Kinda defeats the whole go undetected with camo and stealth and get shots off undetected like an actual sniper would when there’s a strobe light taped to your head. if the were the case a sniper wouldnt survive 5 min IRL. Just call the gun a long range shooter if that’s the case and leave the name sniper out of it. Id love to see all radar gone. It would be way more fun to actually be able to ambush and hide from people without having to squat and slow walk for two days to get somewhere without showing up on radar. Most of the maps are too big to not use sprint if you want to get to the objective in a timely fashion
You are correct, I cannot conceive any way outlines help overcome any hearing impairments. Your comparison to radar didn’t help either because the motion tracker “shows” you things that might be within ear shot but perhaps out of your field of view. The outlines simply highlight enemies that are already on your screen regardless of any actions that enemy may be taking that may or may not generate any audio.
Thanks for bringing up the motion tracker, it is another example of one of the “training wheels” that I was talking about. I’m glad it isn’t in ranked/competitive because it gives away information for free. Let’s add outlines, scope glint, power weapon timers and callouts, and probably a few other things to that list.
Okay one example to try to illustrate how it helps; for a sight impaired person, there is an audible beeping on at the door way of trains as a cue. It helps because it is one of the remaining four senses. In this case there is extra audio information becaues the person lacks the ability to clearly see the doors.
And nerf the AR, it’s one of the most OP weapons in any video game I have ever played
I agree with 2/4.
But then you also have to look at the 20 characters angle too
