I make this post with the most sincere hopes this happens, and I will admit I and still quite new to the matchmaking system of this game, but this is simply my observation and suggestion.
Player matchmaking needs a comeback. There are multiple reasons as to why it should, and I feel it’d probably leave room for more community sets to come out into matchmaking as well. What this suggestion is getting at is in Player Matchmaking, you earn no EXP, guests are allowed, and could encourage a loose, noncompetitive match up that’s geared at making the game fun, controlled chaos. Ranked Matchmaking earns EXP, there are no guests allowed, and geared at competitive play as we are experiencing now, but with actual boundaries and clean (As it can get) gameplay.
My first reasoning-Guests. They can be problematic at times, for multiple reasons. Some either don’t play competitively or fair to their own team-They’re dead weight and act as easy points for the enemy team in gamesets likes Infinity Slayer. They’re also stuck at LVL1, which the reason they can be matched with higher level players is due to the main account being the same level range, which is hampering at times especially when you’re put in matches with players that have good unlocks at their disposal. I’ve seen matches on streams where guests don’t play as bad, but as far as I’ve witnessed and played myself, most the time a team of multiple guests won’t win because players aren’t playing to keep up with the rest of the team, and to my understanding (Which may prove incorrect) the point of levels was to keep in with players of your skill and progression area.
The second reasoning-Boosting. Sure, these players get busted and some get away, but to simply make a new playlist and restrict ranked from guests may save resources and actually have time allocated to looking for other exploiting/cheating/hacking players. At the same time, the guest boosting issue is thrown out the window all together and no longer has to be accounted for.
How do you go about making these playlists? Really, all player-match is going to contain would be the counterpart to ranked playlists, but for guest gameplay. Infinity Slayer, BtB, SWAT, ECT would all have a player-match counterpart. Player match would also ignore levels when creating a match. It would be an atmosphere for mindless chaotic gameplay for either groups of people or someone who just wants to watch stuff blow up and don’t care for winning or losing, either due to the fact they’re drunk or just don’t want to play competitively at that time.
Ranked-Matchmaking remains as it has before in the past. This keeps most players where they really belong, create quality ranked matches and keep the same noncompetitive gameplay in online play.
