Player Collision is not split. Bring it back

I don’t understand the reasoning for removing collision, I never once thought in previous games “I wish I could just walk through my team mates” it makes as much sense as being able to walk through boxes or geometry. That being said, I didn’t really notice it in the flights, perhaps because I’m use to having to actually walk around physical objects, so that’s what I did.

I also am not a fan of removing friendly fire (ff). I did notice impacts of this in the flights, and even started to take advantage of it on occasion (and it felt dirty every time). However, I do understand the reasoning here a little better. Going ftp is likely going to vastly increase the frequency of trolling behavior. There is probably a better way to combat this without affecting the game play so drastically though.

Everyone pro its removal: “its annoying sometimes”

THAT’S THE POINT.

Yeah, those things can be annoying. But phasing through players creates its very own set of annoyances. There were several times during the flights that I’d be back peddling while firing and all of a sudden I was shooting into a teammates back because I had walked right through them. A couple of times it happened with a rocket launcher leading to a suicide.

I also had a few occurrences in which I had nearly killed an enemy only for a teammate to walk through me to snag the final shot. And, in a sort of reverse of that scenario, I had enemies walk backwards through teammates to use them as shields right when I was about to kill them.

So yeah, player collision does have some annoying consequences. But you can’t deny that having it off has its fair share of them as well.

It’s been a while since the flight so I can’t remember it that clearly.

In games like Overwatch it pushes you away from each other. You physically can’t stand in the same spot, but there’s no collision. I think that works well and could fit into Halo.

People swapping damage happens a lot in games like this and Destiny 2. Very defined and limited lanes paired with small maps and radar. It all adds up to people crowding the worst spots.

You disagreeing with the feedback doesn’t make “your side” correct or “more right” than the others. This thread alone very clearly shows that the feedback on this is split.

Calling people who disagree with you “toddlers” is not how you start a discussion. As the blog said, we will be monitoring. Posts that start out hyperbolic and insulting are not going to change anything.
