Player collision 123

first of all I want to say that I have played the halo franshise since before I can remember and i couldnt be more pleased with your final result of halo infinite. I can without a doubt say that I so far LOVE this game.

although the lack of player colision in multiplayer makes it so much more frustrating too play multiplayer and thr secret change you all made was a miniscule improvment.

There are few things in life that have given me more good memories and joy than the halo games, I please beg of you bring back full player collision. I love halo for being so diffrent from other games but this was for sure a step in the wrong direction.

(keep up the amaxing work and have an amazing holliday)

Amen! Please please please bring back player collision. Halo is my favorite shooter franchise of all time hands down, but this hurts the game significantly. I lose kills constantly because enemies panic move and end up phasing through me when I’m trying to punch. Please 343!

Nothing personal, this is not directed at you, but I’m not easily pleased as some players are these days. Halo is supposed to be unique, a game that separates itself from the rest, but IMO it doesn’t have that uniqueness it used to have because the company is following with what is “trending” with games today.

I was talking with my nephew last night going over things about how gaming is turning for the worse when it comes to (quality work ) being put into a game, and Infinite majorly lacks that quality work that use to be put into Halo, for what, the sake of a stupid shop that the game was literally built around? It’s funny how players will just accept this illusion that “less is better” that companies today have conditioned a hell of a lot of players to believe.

Never mind that this is a multi-billion dollar company that had all the resources they needed to make a quality type of game.

Never mind that 343/Microsoft has literally had over a decade with the Halo franchise.

Never mind that they are making a hell of a lot of money off of the player base right now, but barely offered any content in return, and only for players like you to say it’s okay they didn’t give us really anything of what they promised.

The less players hold any company accountable for their deliberate poor actions, the worse games will get overtime. Back in the day, they use to have to put that effort into creating a game, nowadays they don’t and can use the excuse “MP is f2p” to justify their deliberate poor actions and most won’t even really speak up about it because they except that “less is better” BS.

Full collision is the first thing that needs to be implemented, before anything else.

It is such a fundamental part of the game.

Player collision is a terrible modern mechanic. The number of kills ive lost to players phasing through each other is negligible.

It’s bad enough getting stuck on sections of wall that stick out slightly more from the rest. But getting stuck on some moron who has no spacial awareness too? Or having someone purposeley get in your way because you picked up the sniper he wanted? Or just trying to get through a doorway that an idiot might be blocking.

No thanks. What a terrible idea. Especially in these tight maps.

u trippin man. dont really see why you would post this as a comment instead of a post on its own. i hear your oppinions though.

I dont understand why people cant see the fact that it has been 8 years since we got a good Halo game. sure its not perfect but i dont see the point of being so conservative, the industrie is now built around in game purchases and thats a fact, we just have too deal with it,. We complained about the prices and they changed them, even that is waaaay more than any other game studio would ever do.

many loves.

I can’t count the number of times my Melee failed to connect because of no enemy collision.

bro.

I have played the old halo games for a conserning amount of time and i have gotten blocked very few times, meanwhile I loose at least a few kills per game nowadays due to the lack of it.

what a terrible oppinion

This actually explains alot, my dumb assumption was that it was only my team mates that phased through me. Not sure why I’d assume that but looking back at one of my kills, it makes sense

Player blocking was always an issue.

There have been countless times playing Infinite when i’ve been thankful i can walk through my team mate who would otherwise have blocked me into a room. Or gotten in the way while i was strafing.

I can’t think of one time i’ve not been able to get a kill because there’s no collision on friendlies.

That’s not my experience, what a terrible opinion.

It literally was never a topic discussed on Bungie dot net when H2 and H3 were flourishing.

But, I’m not entirely against your opinion.

What is your opinion on enemy player collision? This seems to be a big issue by many posters here.

Player collision has never been an issue, ever. Full collision needs to be in the game.

I played from Halo Reach onwards, so i cant speak to 2 and 3.

I’m all for enemy collision. They’re the ones you want to make contact with, right?

No collision is bad overall. It allows teams to cram through doorways with no penalty - they should all get stuck on each other and not be able to escape nades. You can walk through teammates to take shots for them, including objective players. You can hook behind an enemy and travel through them. You can walk through enemies, making melee even more awkward than it already is (worse in the series by a large margin). I’ve watched so many awkward melee scuffles since the community relies on the melee crutch so much.

Had an instance where I dropped down on someone. I back smack them, but likely also due to desync or whatever - the other guy also melee killed me. Went back into theater and he’s looking down while I am still above him but slight parts of my spartan are clipping through his back. Is it desync? Lag? Something related to lack of collision? Only 343 can actually answer. Should never ever ever ever happen.
