Player and Player Collisions

This is probably been my biggest issue so far with Halo Infinite. You can run, slide and jump through other players, teammate or not. I believe this is a big reason why melee feels so dang inconsistent and clunky. The hitboxes for melee just feels very off.

Is this something 343 currently addressing or at least alluded to being fixed one day in a drop pod or are we always going to be able to walk through other players?

It seems to be a passionate topic.

343 mentioned it in one of their previous blog posts - and described it as “mixed reactions”.

I like it at the start of matches. And I can see how it makes the grapple hook easier to use.

And while I move with team mates I don’t tend to stand on their toes. If someone is at that doorway I specifically go to another vantage point. So I don’t see a lot of bullets or grenades being blocked by team mates. But other’s do.

The melee is probably more off with desync.

And I’m sure they won’t be keen on any major sandbox changes until they sort desync out.

I suppose it could be a factor of desync as well but I know the melee gets very wonky when I am right on top of an enemy. I hope they get it fixed because melee is a staple of Halo

Apparently, if 10% of people don’t want collision in the game, then 343 won’t put it in the game. That’s the “mixed feedback” 343 listens to.

What ticks me off almost every game is how your shots go through teammates but your grenades don’t. I constantly have teammates run in front of my by running THROUGH me, while I’m throwing a grenade…which usually winds up hurting me and/or preventing it from doing what it needed to in a fight.

But teammates running in front of people and getting shot has always been a problem because most people are really dumb
