Played Strongholds on Guillotine 4 times in a row

Check those last 4-6 games

Me and my Fiancée jumped on last night to use up some of our REQ/EXP Boosts.

1st Game: Capture the Flag - Recurve
2nd Game: Strongholds - Deadlock
3rd Game: Strongholds - Guillotine (JIP’d on the losing side 90-0 and lost)
4th Game: Strongholds - Guillotine
5th Game: Strongholds - Guillotine
6th Game: Strongholds - Guillotine

After the 4th time playing the same map and gametype (even though we were winning) that was it, we were done. We couldn’t take playing the same map (even though it’s my favourite Halo 5 BTB map and one of my all time favourites from the series) and gametype again and again.

So you play your favourite map and game type 4 times in a row and your quitting? That might be some peoples wet dream.

My record (so far) for consecutive games on the same map with the same gametype is 5. That is ridiculous. Please implement some sort of voting system 343, for love of god. Even if it is just to be able to veto ONE time.

I HATE guillotine

I never said Strongholds was my favourite gametype. Flag and Assault are my favourite.

Regardless I like variety. If it had been flag on that map 4 times. Maybe I would have enjoyed it. BUt I had strongholds 5 times in a row, then to add further frustration, it was on the same map.

Pizza is one of my favourite foods. I wouldn’t eat it every night though.

I’d take Veto. It worked reasonably fairly on Halo 3.

Oh look, random rotation forces less variety than the veto system, how strange.

The other day, I played three Slayer games in a row on Pegasus, then after that I played 3 more games in a row on Fathom, and earlier, I got Arena Breakout on Coliseum THREE TIMES IN A ROW. Something needs to be done about the lack of variety in matchmaking

Warzone Assault, 6 times in a row on Array, I’m unsure if we got to attack one match though, otherwise it was all just defense.

I’m all for not having a veto or vote system, but it is getting ridiculous I see.

Atleast implement a system which takes the least played map for all players in the lobby overall. Like, if you played on Fathom your last match, it’d be one point for Fathom, then another player also played on it. Then it’d be two points, someone else played on Truth, so then that map would have a point. When all players have been accounted for, the map with least points is picked. If for some reason a player get the same map again, that player gets two points for that map for the next match, decreasing the possibility of getting the same map several times in a row.

I also kind of like MechWarrior Online’s method, if I understand it properly.
You get to vote from four maps and two modes. So, you vote for a map and then in the same screen you vote for a game mode at the same time. Now, there are multipliers in play. If you vote for a map or mode which isn’t chosen your multiplier goes up for the next match. Meaning that your vote weighs as two, three or more the more times you do not get what you vote for. When you do get what you want though, it resets.

That’s just brutal. One can only hope that with the addition of maps it will help the rotation cycle, but that is just ridiculous… You should never play the same map more than 2x in a row.

Ya no matter how much you love a map you can really only play it twice in a row. I played warzone on noctus 5 times in a row before and it was the worst thing ever.

There needs to be a system that prevents the same map appearing consecutively.

Aww, that’s sweet

I’d rather player Strongholds - Guillotine ten straight times than ever have to play Recurve or Entombed again.

Well, who needs map voting or even a good map ratation.
343i should bring it back.

Yeah, wait till he’s actually married and then the Halo 5 thing will stop! “You’re planning on playing HALO AGAIN TONIGHT?!?” <kidding…maybe>

Halo 2 didn’t have a voting system, but the amount of maps and gametypes made the chances of getting multiple games in a row exactly the same far less likely.

I do like the idea of the MWO method you discrbed, maybe mixed in with the Halo Reach method of 3 choices and a “None of the above” option. Then just increase a player’s effect on the voting until they get a game they voted and reset it.

Hey it happens sometimes… guess what it happened even back when there was voting, and even more so, because people would vote Valhalla ALL the time. Life isn’t perfect and sometimes things won’t go your way. No need to rant about it online.

She’s really good about my gaming habit and loves to join me in my little adventures. But we are expecting now so I know I’m in for some rough gaming times ahead.

Fingers crossed in a few years I’ll have the little one all set up and gaming with me too.

I do get some 2X repeated maps on Slayer. Worse when I go from Slayer to FFA back to Slayer and may get same map 3 or 4 X in a row!

Do see a lot of things like : Pegasus, Overgrowth, Pegasus, Overgrowth…
