Played H4 Last Night. Rant on H5G.

I played Halo 4 again last night and realized alot of things I miss on H5G. Hate never being able to use the banshee and other vehicles on H5G. Req system drives me nuts. Why do I have to 152 of the same items? Why can’t I sell them all? Why can’t we have the jet pack again? Why can’t we have optional loadouts again? Was Arena supposed to be H4’s version of Big Battle? If so, Why is it all performance based to use lethal weapons? I’m constantly ending up in last place on Arena. I understand games will be minimum viable, but come on. There has to be some stasis.

I for one am glad armor mods are gone

I have to disagree with a few of your points. Loadouts and the jet pack (alongside all other armour abilities) are better off not being in Halo. The idea of being able to start off with better equipment than somebody else takes away the equal starts philosophy that made Halo so interesting.

And this is coming from me, a social, non-competitive player.

If you’re on Warzone, unlock it through Silver packs and you can spawn your own.

If you’re on BTB, just get to it and use it like every other Halo.

I mean, you can, it’ll just take you a while.

There’s also a Chrome extension out there that’ll do it for you on Waypoint.

Because the jet pack broke map flow.

Because optional loadouts goes against the very idea of Halo’s multiplayer. The fact that Halo 4’s population tanked under a month after release is a good indicator of that.

Halo 5’s BTB is supposed to be, well BTB.

Halo 5’s Arena was supposed to be it’s version of every other multiplayer.

Jet pack is the most game breaking thing ever introduced into Halo. It’s in close competition with DMR bloom from Reach.

So glad the jet pack is gone. I hope it stays dead.

Sounds like Halo isnt your game bro.

Truly, if you want a jetpack and loadouts then CoD has both. I suggest you try it.

I have to say that I did love some of the possibilities offered by the jet pack in terms of Action Sack gametypes. Dino Blasters was one of the best things in Halo Reach.

But there’s no Concussion Rifle in Halo 5. Or playable Elites. So I guess that point is moot.

I loved the jet pack although like the posters above said it was game breaking which is true.

As a bumper jumper, I am thoroughly glad jetpack is gone. Both for general gameplay reasons, and also selfish reasons that I could never use it right :frowning:

Halo is my game. I’m obsessed with it lately. I’m not switching. Ill figure it out. Just aggravating.

Moreover, if it was in the previous versions, there must have been some rationale with integrating them into the game. So now game developers and engineers design by popular vote? I love the physics of Halo, I guess I’m not being attuned to those particulars as other players.

Anyone here miss the point at what the OP is getting at?

Halo 4 in allot of aspects is far superior than Halo 5.
Story
Maps
UI
Multiplayer
Armor
Splitscreen
Offline Capabilities
Better Enemies
More richer and breath taking enviroments
Terminals
Challenges
Special Armor enhancements that work with particular spartan classes.

The only thing it was missing was Skulls and Data pads and getting rewarded for Skull finds, Legendary Completion, Terminals, Challenges, ect.

A lot of aspects, none of which OP brought up.

More importantly, a lot of things people hated when the game was released.

Have to disagree with the multiplayer it was not that good. Armor customization choices are better but Halo 5 has better looking armor. Offline capabilities I am sorry but lets be real here for 90% of people they are connected to the internet all the time so this doesn’t really affect that many people. Better enemies your joking right?

Multiplayer was awesome and I’m allowed to have a personal opinion. Armor… Halo 5 has good looking armor granted. Offline capabilities is a big deal for Lan parties and hanging out with friends on a boring sunday afternoon. Sure we all bought gold and allot of us are online but it’s for those odd occasions that it would really be nice to have. And the Promethean Knights and Crawlers from Halo 4 were pretty awesome and complete pains in the… NVM… were as they are pretty stupid in Halo 5. personally I prefer the phasing Knights everywhere and annoying crawlers sniping you from a distance than getting over run by halfwit Promethean numbers.

That’s a crock of nvm. you know for a fact that this is everything people are looking for. quit trolling.

There is no such thing as equal starts. Not everyone can get better at the starting weapon, some people are naturally more tunes to certain weapons.

You should be able to choose your starting gear like in Reach and 4, it was more fun and also a lot more involved.

I completely agree, but…
I think a jet pack for warzone and maybe a few times in the campaign could’ve been cool. But definitely not for any competitive gametypes.

I didn’t think I’d have to repeat myself this soon, but again, none of this was brought up in OP’s first post.

And if I go down the list, almost every one of these were disliked or downright hated in Halo 4. At it’s very best, a downgrade from Reach.
