One thing I think alot of people would like to have return in Halo is other playable species. Not many people like the idea of less features, especially old ones getting removed. It’d be like if Gears of War didn’t let you play as Locust AHHAHAHAAHHA (looks at Gears of war judgement)
Many people said the reason why elite’s were removed is because of the hold headshot thing but that was solved in Reach and 343i’s Halo when they we’re made to stand upright instead of slouched, so why not readd them?
Along with elite’s why not add Prometehan Soldiers, or Brute’s or even Jackals. MP being canon was already said to be one of the most hated changes since it forced what could and couldn’t be done with the series so why not ignroe that? It’s not to hard to make Covenant or Promethean equivalents of Spartan abilities even in universe now that the species of the Covenant don’t have any restrictions upon them from the Prophets and each of the species listed above could just have strides in technology like we did, we just haven’t seen them since we’ve only been fight Jul and robits. The best example is the Banished. They have tech we’ve never seen because…we’ve never seen them.
It’d also allow for design creatively which Halo seriously needs in it’s armor after Halo 5 because, it was honestly pretty sad. Most were just variations of pre-existing suits and helmets making them all look the same. Probably the most unique armor in Halo 5 is designed after the elite’s which is Helioskrill. The other unique armors are ironically the classic suits and helmets.
Brute, Elite’s, Promethean and let’s just say like above Jacked up Jackals would allow for incredibly unique design that each species has specifically for themselves. It wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to say you play as a short brute or elite or tall jackal just to equal up with Spartans.
Even the note of this entire thread, is no one else tired of canon getting in the way of fun? If canon desire’s to muck up MP then add prone, MAC blasts and make the plasma weapons have the affects they have in the books. I’m fully aware that the canon MP thing isn’t to the degree that I’ve discussed, it’s basically just saying that Spartans to train in hardlight sims but it is used as an excuse to why the games have limitations which feels very poor. There is little reason as to why we can’t play as other species in canon. Anvil already does so with Spartan’s and Elite’s training together, why not work with other human friendly groups off the Infinity? Or why don’t other species invite us to train the with them sort of like what is done in real life. Instead of having Palmer bark in our ears why can’t we go train under Thel Vadam and the SoS in hardlight simulations or some group that exits to bridge the gap between species.
Why so much segregation between the species? I can understand why we humans hate the Covenant or why the Covenant hate the elite’s but why does anything hate humans now that it’s known that the war was a sham?
