Playable Sangheili

Exactly. Human- allied elite factions like the arbiters should be a big deal in regards with the story. Elites are all about war, so why is 343 putting arbiter and the sos on the back burner when it comes to post war conflicts. Like I said before it wouldn’t make sense for the sos not to get involved with the banished or created conflicts at some point in infinites life cycle, but so far all we’ve gotten for our allied elite brethren is some brief lore descriptions for some new ugly Spartan armor.

I suppose time will only tell there. I’d like to believe the direction that infinite is moving story wise will eventually hand the torch over to Spartans as a whole, and excluding our allies is a sad way to do things.

Adding in an unpopular opinion, I enjoyed both elite art styles. It’s not crazy to think of elites in various sizes. Sure the Sangheli anime in halo legends wasn’t “canon” but I have a hard time believing every elite is slender, I wouldn’t mind a body slider for bulky and small elites. It’d be super fun to play a game of SlashNSmash Momentum (custom sword/hammer. High jump. High speed, long slide) with huge elites and hammers.

The SoS deserve better, Arbiter deserves better than 343’s treatment of them….

It makes me sad that all 343 has been focused on lately is Brutes, humans, and forerunners….

The sangheili and kig yar have been shoved to the side (kig yar have always been shoved to the side which is super sad) in favor of dumb spartans that are stupidly OP at times with ridiculous plot armor and super boring at this point…

I really hope 343 makes an Alien Campaign for Halo that features Sangheili and Kig-yar and shows us something different….

I don’t mind both, it’s just that I didn’t like how 343 portrayed the big ugly ones as the standard. Im glad they’ve gone back to the sleek and lanky look for the standard, but in expanded media there they’re free to express all phenotypes I’m fine with the bombastic look appearing alongside the regular.

This isn’t entirely true. They already showcase two items in a tier. Warzone does this also. You just make it so every tier you get a helmet, you get an elite head too, armor coating, Elite coating. Making things cross core would help this, idk about cross species outside of colors and effects but I think its entirely possible and would add MORE value to the battle pass. There’s 100 tiers but 166 items in total right now. Imagine getting more content, whether you like elites or not, but getting more content and saying it will devalue the pass. They could easily make a 100 tier pass that has 200 items, make a 150 tier pass, 200 tier pass. They could do whatever they wanted

I didn’t mind the 343 ones as much as everyone else did, but I will definitely admit that the original design is better.

As for Elites being lanky… I really don’t understand what you mean, Elites aren’t lanky, they’re big and strong. They may not be as big and meaty as Brutes, but I wouldn’t really classify them as lanky.

Ig moreso in ce and reach and now infinite, but the elites tended to have a more slender and lanky look composed to Spartans or brutes, but they’ve always been as strong if not stronger than Spartans.

I feel like wanting to play as an elite is even more of a long shot this time around. You can’t even play as a female in Infinite lmao.

I agree with you for the most part, but I personally wouldn’t classify them as lanky. At least, not the Elites that I like most (Halo 3).

If 343 isn’t going to give us the Elites, then a SoulsBorne game where you are one on Sangheilios, immediately after the events of Halo 5 fighting the leftover Prometheans and eventually Flood, that leads into Infinite, I’ll be the happiest WORT in the galaxy.

It is slim muscle. Not thick beefy muscle like spartans or brutes.

Alim muscle is best imo

I don’t think I understand. Why do you think there aren’t any female spartans? There’s three different body types to pick from and a set of male voices and a set of female voices for the player. In the tutorial we’re guided by a lady spartan at first. Just because there isn’t specifically a “male” and “female” distinction between the body types doesn’t mean there aren’t female spartans at all. Maybe they could add a more slender body type if that’s what you mean, but I think it’s disingenuous to imply that there are only “male” spartans/body options in the game. And speaking as a genderfluid person, I personally find the body types not being gendered at all really freeing.

In Reach the Elites weren’t bigger, Noble 6 and most of Noble team were just normal person sized.

Honestly, out of all my years playing halo and learning its lore, i’ve found myself loving elites more than spartans. Which is why i always had my preferred species as Elite in Reach. I really hope that we do get playable elites at some point, especially after seeing how they look in campaign. I can definitely wait for them to be playable, im just worried that they will never be playable ever again.

Yeah but what if i am a female (hypothetical) and i want people to KNOW that my spartan is a female. I can’t really do that can I? The body selector is jusy skinny, medium, and thicker.

If inwanted to be a female spartan, it is not verybobvious like Halo Reach which did it quite well.

The spartans all look male to me and others.

Absolutely 100% agree with you.

Sangheili are awesome and way cooler imo than spartans.

T’vaoan are slightly better IMO…… it would be so cool if they could be a playable species too….

I mean, are you looking for like… super skinny waists, increased bust? (god forbid) bewb armor? Real actual women have the sort of body types they’ve included. Especially ones that would have impressive physical training/musculoskeletal enhancements like Spartans are supposed to have. If you’ve ever looked at like, female weightlifters, track and field professionals, wrestlers, they have those sorts of builds. That’s what useful (not ornamental) muscle looks like. I could see them adding maybe an even slenderer model because there are those sorts of people whose muscle manifests in a sort of unassuming, wiry way (like distance runners for example).

That honestly just sounds like a you problem if they “look male” to you, mate. If you want people to “just know” then I guess choose the smallest body type and one of the three female voices for your character?? If you’re gonna be sterotypical about it. I don’t know what else to tell you about that.

I find “idealized”/hypersexualized female models in games to be insulting honestly. They don’t look like real people to me. And when the “male” model is made to be realistic and the “female” model is made to look idealized/sexualized… that’s not ok. And I know that’s off-putting for a lot of women players. (and yeah, I know this is a game about fake super soldiers but they’re still human at the end of the day and I think players deserve to have equal options no matter their gender) And personally I’d prefer to be fighting alongside women spartans who, you know, actually look like they have muscle on them and can carry the thousand-pound power armor they’re wearing.

No… halo reach was fine lol

Maybe less booty though

I mean the Spartan 3s of noble team were still around like 6’5. Yea there’s people that are that tall but it’s still pretty big by Normal human standards lol. Jorge was a 2 so he was around both elite and masterchief size, maybe a little bigger than chief

That sounds amazing, but I want them to at the very least give us invasion and an elite armor core for infinite
