Not sure how everyone feels about discord but I’ve thought about starting a channel on there to continue our fight for playable elites when the forums finally go down on here

Indeed it is all we can do, but just how long do they expect us to continue waiting? I personally haven’t been waiting all that long, but not having playable Elites (or Brutes) in a new game is still unbearable. And what about the ones hoping to play as Elites again since Halo 5 (2015), or worse, Halo 4 (2012)?
They’ve probably all given up by now.
This part of the community has been so neglected by 343, it’s unbelievable. There’s still of plenty of discussion about playable Elites here and there, and there are a lot of people who are still excited about the idea of playing as Elites or even Brutes, but since they’ve first taken over, 343 can’t seem to think of anything beyond the Spartans. Spartan this, Spartan that…it’s rather tiring. And I forgot to mention that they absolutely can do that, but just let us play as Elites!
By the way, sorry if this seems like it’s directed at you. It definitely isn’t! I needed to vent some more, and your post ended up being the avenue for that, hahaha.

I’ve been waiting since halo 4 in 2012 so I know how you feel and it sux being neglected by 343, so I’ve branched out and partially moved on.
I still enjoy mcc and I’ll tune in to halo news every once in a while, but besides giving the good fight for elites, I’ve moved on from the halo franchise, or sPaRtAn franchise as 343 likes to call it
Every visual asset in the game uses the same shader system as coatings. So theoretically coatings can be applied to everything, including enemies. That’s one of the reasons 343 can’t just bring back the old color selection system, coatings are ingrained into the entire game.
Anyway, I wouldn’t be surprised if modders have figured out how to change the coatings on non-player, weapon, and vehicle objects by now, hence what you saw.
According to the leaked information, 343i has set up a friendly system for elites, who can exchange weapons with players.
I would spend $10-$20 on being able to play as an elite. Playing as one just always made me feel chill and to be goofy while playing. Not to take things too seriously which is hard for me now with how everything is set up. One day, maybe and hopefully. See you on the other side fellow Spartan. <3
I am glad for the MCC. There are six games, and seven if we include Halo 2 Anniversary’s multiplayer as it’s own thing. Out of those 6 or 7 games, three have Elites playable (with Halo Reach having some limitations), but there’s actually FOUR games with playable Elites if, again, we count Halo 2 Anniversary multiplayer separately!
You know a funny/interesting thing I realised some time ago? Halo 2A Multiplayer is technically 343‘s work as it seems to be on a modified Halo 4 engine…and it lets you play as Elites! So they (or another company, because 343 seem to LOVE outsourcing their work) actually did everything necessary to let people play as Elites once. Just something to think about, haha. And yes, I know it’s probably only because they made is a “Halo 2” multiplayer, but still…
Oh, I would probably pay for their themed battle pass for sure. I’ve been using Microsoft Rewards to pay for the battle passes so far, and I still have the Season 2 1000 credits that I’ll use on the S3 pass when I feel like getting it. But I may make an exception if they let us play as Elites, or even Brutes. I doubt it makes a difference to them, but it makes me feel a little better to ‘let Microsoft pay for it’, haha!

Well, since the original playable Elite topic which persisted from 2012 to 2021 will soon be completely erased, I would say 343 have something to pat themselves on the back about. 
It’s been an honor brothers fight well and hard for sanghelios and our sangheilis right to be in playable in halo multiplayer! Continue to keep that pressure until then! I look forward to fighting along side y’all on mcc! Hit me up!
