I like Yanme’e for similar reasons. Also the fact that no one talks about these guys, I don’t recall a single book that talks about them.
I guess the Skimmers sort of replaced them, which is even more sad.

It won’t happen. As much as I would love to play as Elites again, I think season 7 in MCC was their last hoorah.
I would be on board with this along with playable brutes. Seeing as how brutes are a much larger part of this games lore. Just so long as it isnt ranked i think it would be awesome.

I think what we could do is jolt down all of our past ideas, reasons for getting elites back in multiplayer especially now while 343 is doing they’re best to recover and fix the total s**tstorm that’s happening in infinite at the current moment they get it all worked out they’ve done it in the past
Once all that is settled when can then start throwing out the ideas for them to be implemented this way it’s not all at once on 343s part for now I feel like the playable elites are on the back burner for now, they are after all part of being a classic halo experience it’s nots very inclusive to keep them out and not all of us are “Spartans”
If you look at past halo games they have a ton of armors that can be implemented hell there can different armor cores for them as well one can be for ancient sangheili armors/arbiter armors the others for the more modern ones even can have variants of the minors armor since they have so many different designs themselves!
The elites already use human weapons in infinite which means they have correct animations to use those weapons too, if reach can do covenant versions of unsc equipment then why not infinite do the same? These are just some of the things and reasons why I believe they need to return. Ive been around halo for along time I can remember when me and my brother first played the game when it first came out and when elites became playable for the first time in halo too it was the happiest day for me because that’s when I could finally play as the elites! And frankly I’d like to see that nostalgia blossom once more in infinite I know for a fact 343 has the capability to do it! I believe in them still that there’s a glimmer of hope they’ll bring em back

Yep using unsc weapons, hijacking, even the animations for using over shields/ camo is there, for both elites and brutes. Now they just have to make 1st person models and animations for the other equipment like grapple hook. There’s even a vid from gamecheat13 playing as a brute chieftain and he was able to use grapple hook, albeit with no animations yet.

Okay so I’ve been seeing Footage of what happens when you get up close to an Elite as the Cheif but I gotta wondor, how does the cheif size up to an Elite here, if the size is right maybe we can make Playable elites have this posture as well.

I feel like most of these barriers are just imagined. Any logistical problems are those that were dealt with in past games. Any battlepass will likely have either parts of them, or ENTIRE PASSES just be unappealing to some. Example, imagine if they did a halo 4/5 themed battlepass. Even if there were cross core armor pieces, lots of people just wouldnt want anything from it.
That’s just gonna be how it goes no matter what, whether its with elites as an armor core or not. Even now Reach armor doesn’t appeal to EVERYONE. It might be to the majority of halo fans for nostalgia reasons, but they already blew that reach nostalgia load on this season, and theres only a couple bullets left in the nostalgia gun. They’ll need to start doing things that might not be as widely accepted at some point, and itd feel kinda lame if they came from a reach pass then shot right into another nostalgia pass.

I really want playable Elites back, but I think 343 should focus on the major issues right now. Like the fact that once you complete the battlepass you have nothing else to progress towards. That should be dealt with ASAP. Also that you can’t unlock “Halo coins” through gameplay, spending money should never be the only option, even if it’s a free to play game.
After these are fixed then they might have room for playable Elites, but it probably won’t be any time soon if even at all.
