Playable Races Ideas

For many reasons we should be able to play as different types of humans and aliens in halo and each one should have its ups and downs. Halo is a series full of aliens and powerful ancient beings.

But how the different aliens/humans will work is somewhat like the Specializations just with them being a separate ranking systems. Same Ranking system as Halo 3
(because we all loved it.) How this goes is that like in Halo 3 you get a medal/achievement when you obtain an Officer Rank, like LT. Now from this point players will be able to level up other species and only those who reach the Max rank will be able to obtain all the species that are playable and their abilities.

Different Types of Tech.

New Life Bar(Armor)-A none refillable layer of defense underneath shields and has a chance to stop damage to health depending on the different types of weapons. High Armor Damage has 75% chance to pass through, Moderate armor Damage has 50% chance to pass armor and low AP weapons have a 25% chance to do damage to health. Marksman Weapons will have AP rounds and will be able to get headshots.

Human- High Health Damage, Moderate Armor Damage, Low Shield Damage

Sangheili- AOE Damage from Plasma splashes. High Shield Damage, low Armor Damage, moderate Health Damage.

Jiralhanae-Damage Over Time and High Armor Damage

So these are what i think would be great additions to the new Halo Saga. I’m not just saying for this new game but added in later games if possible.

Thoughts?

Um…

bit confused, but I’m sure that i’d understand it if i was to play it.

As for race ideas, how about a sorta relay game where we have to get to a certain checkpoint where we have to change vehicles like from mongoose/warthog to mantis to hornet, blowing up or dodging obstacles specific to the vehicle.

I seriously think stepping farther away from Halo is a bad idea. I’m all for adding playable races, such as the Brutes, Elites, and Forerunners. But keep them statistically the same, and scale them down to the same approximate height and width.

While this idea would be cool in a Star Wars Battlefront-like game, it definitely does not work in a Halo game. Remember, one of the biggest reasons people dislike Halo 4’s multiplayer is the Loadouts, allowing people to start off on unequal grounds. This is understandable, since Halo has always been about people starting off equal, and having the better, more skilled player win.

Giving us different types of characters to play not only removes the idea of equality, which would annoy many players, including myself, it would also be incredibly tough to balance, and there would undoubtedly be one character that would be better than others.

I understand what you mean here it would be unfair for someone to using loadouts with what used to be the OP DMR while someone had the standard Assault rifle. But this isn’t that.

These are small things for player betters. If you don’t like the different types of aliens you don’t have to play as them. You can only obtain them when you go through the ranks.

At first you are Spartan IV you level progress and how you play decides which race you can get. Their are of course size differences that level out alien/spartan power along with buffs and debuffs. Like how the elites have great shields but low health and the brutes only have armor and no shields but that armor is powerful and so is there health. This species different will play out like how infinty slayer and pro-slayer work now. Players are able to choose if they will be able to play as their species with different gametypes. Like Covenant Slayer where you can play as brutes or elites,Ancient Slayer allows players to be forerunners, Spartan Slayer allows players to be any spartan beyond the name Spartan IV’s. Finally War allows players to be any race.

As general matchmaking, no. However, I would love to see playable races in a special gametype. Perhaps a mix of Invasion and Firefight. There is a central objective on the map, but AI enemies on the map as well as the other players. One team of Spartans, Elites, Brutes and Forerunners, etc. Depending on your race, certain enemies won’t hurt you and help you.

So many people get this wrong, including some of the writers of Halo. Humans, Elites, and Brutes are different species, not races. Halo is not fantasy. It’s science fiction. Science fiction. Let’s all start acting like it.

As for your actual idea, I don’t think it would work. It’d be better to bring Halo 5’s matchmaking back to something similar to Halo 3’s, not completely complicate things even more. It’d require 343i to do a lot more work and it would destroy the last vestiges of competitive arena styled gameplay that still remain. I would like playable Elites back, implemented of course like they were in Halo 2 and 3.

i put races because I was including the Spartans as well. Races/Species just didn’t look right. I know the difference between the two i am writing a book with over 54 species that i have made in it. Many of those species have different races and sub-species.

Maybe this can be done for a spin off Halo game, but not for the next main title to the storyline.

Great idea…something after Halo 4 if Forerunners will be involved.

Halo: Supremacy

how does that sound. I think it sounds great.
