Remember when 343 said that there will be something to “scratch that itch” when elites are gone. From what I’ve seen the promethean knights (even though they are robots) look like a good replacement for elites. They can hold weapons, they have nice things, and swords thingys.
Do you think the prometheans are a good replacement for elites. If not, what are good replacements for elites?
Im pretty sure 343 has already stated we wont be playing as prometheans. And that itch was lijely referring to invasion since that was part of the question

I was thinking that the first time. However, Promethean Knights have 4 arms and it would be complicating to use. But y’never know!
I want to play as something from all factions if possible. I think there should be a gametype where we can play as anything. As for basic multi player modes, I think elites and brutes should be options, I don’t think we know enough about Promethean Knights to say they should be playable too, but its cool to think about non the less.

I think the two little arms would be for throwing grenades

Could it be? Spartan Ops Versus? Spartans vs Promethean Knights? That would be -Yoinkin’!- badass!

Theres that possibility and theres also the Spartan’s verses Elites verses Prometheans. Spartans and Elites can still engage with each other but there is also the Prometheans as an enemy, literally how Spartan Ops AI plays

I really like the sound of that! It all just depends on how big the lobbies would be. It’d probably be 4 player wouldn’t it? Or more? I don’t know

It’s hard to say after how badly Firefight Versus turned out in Reach, mainly lag issues.
I would like to say 4 vs 4 with the remaining AI (Elites or Prometheans). But realistically it would probably be 2 vs 2 on this gen console due to AI quantities.

> We already know Elites are not in, which means no Invasion as we know it in Halo 4. Have you considered releasing a game type (both at launch and after launch) which relied on some of the aspects which made Invasion great? –Gabotron ES

> Elites are in Campaign. Elites are not playable MP types. We will, however, add some interesting variety to MP which will scratch that itch.
I believe that since he says “variety” he is reffering to a different spieces rather than a gametype.
Probably these Knights wouldn’t have that back-plate, nor their original metal gun/sword arms, their humanoid ones would be improved [look at their Beta concept for these Knights] to hold guns and toss nades.
Their size is slightly smaller than their normal type.
Their melee uses the gun in a swing, dealing slightly more damage, but a tiny bit slower.
They assassinate with their left arm, generating an energy slicer to cut up their spine (like Elites in reach + energy sword).
Have no sprint, but have a ‘hop’, reference to Geth playable units in Mass effect 3’s multiplayer.
Hardlight shield for them would be bigger.
In flood, they will convert to their pre-composer form, the Rouge helmet, engineer shoulders, pathfinder torso and Mark IV arms/legs would resemble such.
Their crouch lowers them to Spartan crouch height, making them slightly faster, sacrificing Armour ability usage and their evading movement abilities for the cover and/or accuracy.
Idea of old Proto-prometheans, prototypes while Didact was finding a suitable form to kill FLOOD with, trapped on Infinity.
-[Story]
They fled from Requiem due to Jul’Mdama’s betrayal, though the Infinity was closest and longest staying entity, thus it was their only direct link.
Led by the instinct of survival, they ask the humans if they could join the UNSC, mentioning their past and their anger at the remains of the Covenant (Shattered Covvies). They also mention to the Chief that they assume Didact is not dead, and that they could try and find him, and convert him to the [Destiny].
