forget the elites what about prometheans? They know how to do what elites do and they are already a pain in the back so why not? We so far played as every faction, flood, covies, UNSC. But where are the prometheans? Also promethean soldiers are the same height as Spartan so none of that height issue. And 343 can get away with 3 or 4 different armor reqs for them. And they know English which some covies can’t say for themselves (I’m looking at you jackals and hunters) so why not?
I am content keeping it just Spartans. Other models don’t interest me much.
I am in full support of playable anything in the halo universe that isn’t a Spartan/elite. I figure the promethean soldiers will play just like the brutes, break their armor then shoot the head and the armor doesn’t regenerate.

On topic, the short warp evasion could replace boost, but how would shields work? If your armour is damaged do you have find a watcher to repair it?
How would you feel about playable Infection Forms?

Hmm I haven’t thought about that, maybe have a portable watcher? Or it slowly reformes?

Honestly, you don’t want playable anything else in a core Halo title. Even Elites had some noticeable issues and such issues are only magnified when you look at the other races.
I’m not saying that we should drop it and let it be the end. I would love to see spin-off titles where we got to see gameplay developed around each races specific attributes that are not constrained by the mechanics of a core Halo title. I’ve always dreamed of a large scale Battlefield esque title, featuring class based Marines vs class based Covenant, and I’m sure Prometheans could be worked in too.
But you really don’t want it in a main Halo title.
WZ is the place for this to happen. Could you imagine in Halo 6 if WZ was so expanded that you could choose what gen of spartan you want to play as, or what class of elite, or what type of promethean, or what type of flood form… the possibilities are -Yoinking!- endless now.

Teleport charge for the shoulder charge.
Teleport during ground pound mechanic.
Flood:
Sprint.
Small leap for thrusters.
Normal ground pound
Normal shoulder charge without thrusters.
But this will 99% never happen

I personally feel there’s not much to gain (in the long run, at least) in making an entire standalone title specifically for that. Especially if it starts getting popular and getting sequels and starts competing with the main series…
I say leave it to the gametype. The main Halo titles could just take the simple route and let us make minigames out of it like we always have. Say for instance that at launch, all the playlists have you forced to a Spartan, but you could fire up a match of SWAT in customs and everyone enters the arena as a Marine (so the no shields thing makes more sense) or a game of Slayer where thematch is played with grunts and half empty Pistols spawn on the map as power weapons, or a game of Snipers where everyone is a Jackal. Heck, maybe even a Juggernaut mode where the Juggernaut is a Hunter or a Knight, or something…
What I’m saying is that it doesn’t have to be a core part of the game, and Spartans don’t always have to be in the same Arena as the other bipeds.
So you are saying I can blink around like a Destiny bladedancer but do it twice as fast and cover twice the ground?
