So at the end of H4 on Legendary the Helmet comes off and you see Master Chiefs eyes. Now with this trailer we see a bullet blast apart Master Chiefs Helmet.
Speculation, either Chief has a new Helmet or at some point in H5 we will see John 117 in all his glorious gingerness. (Johns a ginger right, I thought I heard someone say that from one of the books?!)

Also I doubt we will see him playing without a helmet or get a new one, the trailer was meant to be more symbolic.
He already has a new Helmet after the Didact Damn near crushed it and fused it to him in Escalation. So whatever damage was in the E3 trailer happened after that.
John has brown hair - this has been canon since ‘The Fall of Reach’ was published when ‘Halo: CE’ was released years ago. Also I recommend you read the ‘Escalation’ comic series to catch up on what has been happening since the end of ‘Halo 4’. As for the new “bullet teaser”, the Chief’s helmet being shattered is purely a visual effect to get people’s attention. The Chief isn’t likely to be getting a different helmet, let alone be seen without one, any time soon.
