playable elites vs Spartans > balance.

how do you want to playable elite mechanics to work compared to Spartans ? Below I have my idea how they would fit the game.
So the Spartans abilitees are :
ground pound.
Dodge trusters.
spartan charge.
sprint.
mid fall thruster aim.

elites abilitees are :
Leap roll.
extra melee damage.
extra health and shields.

i believe this pretty much even outs them both, leap roll will be swapped for the trusters and will be no use for spring as elites run pretty fast any way.
minus the ground pound and Spartan charge they make up for the extra shield and health with buffed melee damage. How could you balance the two?
peronal I think playable elites should only be in pathetic game modes like invasion and should not be integrated into the arena.

Based on what you wrote everybody and their mum would play as elites.

You can’t really balance 2 sides by taking away and adding different elements.
And elites are far stronger than spartans in a mid to close 1v1 now.

You should post this in the elite megathread.

I just wanted Elite Armor in my armory.

ummmmm what? How in the world is that fair in anyway. Even with the added abilities the spartans have, those buffs automatically allow for elites to have an edge on basic 1v1 battles destroying any form of balance and when it comes to arena shooter balance is key.

But as stated earlier you should prob bring this to the elite megathread

Just make Halo prequel with a Covanent War hundreds or thousands of years in the past to have a Elite campaign and MP.

Give Elites the same abilities. Just make them reskins of spartans.

I understand but you would have to completely re design the elites if you wanted them the same as Spartans

If you read it all the way threw you would see that I stated that they would only be playable for certain game modes…so you wouldn’t be able to choose

Well what I mean is only pathetic game modes as clearly stated, if it was just in all game modes every one will simply go for the more powerful character. So if it was for invasion the Spartans could have something to even out the battle field like extra marines or sentry guns

Do you read what I put? How would you integrate elites into one on one? It’s not happening . Halo reach was the same. You didn’t see a one v one in reach did you? No.

Hey you are contradicting yourself here bro. You initially said the the added abilities would balence out each character. But in your most recent post you state that elites are the more powerful character with these changes. So which do you want?
To make another point, your thoughts about how halo contains pathetic game types, I just don’t see it. Even though this is a video game and none of which is contained is actually real. I would still think that game types such as Firefight, Invasion, and Warzone to actually be a more “realistic” training sequence than just plain old slayer and ctf. Now don’t get me wrong these are great game types here. But in terms of the active military conflict involving this game franchise, spartans are all on the same side. So becoming proficent at slaying you fellow soldier may not be the most effective way to train. I’m just sayin’

No I executed my self perfectly. Has I stated at the bottom only for certain game modes…yes I believe it is still balanced but elites are all ways going to be more powerful and any less it would just be a reskinned Spartan . So I never contradicted my self bro.

But elites will be bigger in size? And more of a target so if they wee completely just reskins who would choose elites? Please explain that ?! Or are you just commenting for the sake of it.

I thought about them being a larger target. Maybe they could be given something less as drastic as more health. Maybe they could be given quicker reload speed and quicker cool down rates on covenant weapons. This is a big step but the covenant weapons could be a slightly quicker kill time by 1 or 2 shots. The problem is that unlike in halo reach there are no load outs so it can’t be that they have different weapons.
