This pertains more to the Reclaimer trilogy as a whole, rather than just Halo 4. Do you guys think (in campaign obviously) that we will be forced to play as a character other than Master Chief?
Similar to Halo 2 of course where the campaign is split.
I feel like at some point they will make us play as our customized Spartan IV (outside or Spartan Ops) after MC and the Infinity cross paths. This is of course speculation, but it would address the people that enjoyed playing as Noble 6.
I would sure like to play as an ODST alongside the Chief, but I wouldn’t want that ODST to be an unknown soldier like the Rookie or even a Spartan like Noble 6…he should be IMO Edward Buck or Sgt.Stacker (pretty badass soldiers in Halo) or a fellow Spartan 2 like Fred/Kelly/Linda. But playing alongside Chief will take out the whole fun and meaning of the Chief’s return, but if they manage to create another EPIC and Legendary character like Thel’Vadam, I would just marktheFout with joy!
Rampant speculation suggests the Reclaimer trilogy will follow the original trilogy in terms of story arc. If so, we may be playing as Bornstellar-Didact in Halo 5 for a little bit. Which would be -Yoinking!- sweet.
That said, I don’t want that to happen; I’ll be pretty put-out if 343 shadows the original trilogy’s story. That won’t be original at all.
Buck has probably been turned into a Spartan IV by now.
They’re also using the best marines, and Buck is just about the best marine in the UNSC. (I know Srgnt. Johnson and Stacker are probably better, but belive or not, They’re Spartan I’s)

Yep. It was indicated in both the Graphic Novel and Contact Harvest. Stacker on the other hand has never been stated to be an SI.

Johnson was in the ORION PROJECT, which was eventually followed by the Spartan II project after it’s failure, he wasn’t really a S-I.
My belief is this. It is more than likely that they will be using the spartan IV models for co-op multiplayer. While they could use multiple master cheifs, the population likes being their own spartans way to much. They have been asking to play as their own spartan during the campaign since halo 2.
So one person will stay the cheif of course, but it is highly likely that the rest will be Spartan IVs.
