Play for Fun or Pay to Win

There has been lots of discussion about using real money to buy Req’s in Halo 5. These can only be used in Warzone and unlock really cool vehicles and power ups so with warzone dominated by vehicles and power weapons, and being designed for that if you want to spend real world money on Req’s then is that a problem?

I think the real problem with that is it can lead to people spending money unwisely and on things that in essence don’t exist. To be the best Halo warzone player in the world means nothing to the majority of the world.

Gone are the days where games were sold as a complete game, we are now in the time of pay to win and everyone expects the next expansion on their favourite games. If gaming is all you have in your life to spend your money on then why not pay to win, just don’t end up bankrupting yourself because you needed more Req’s.

Priorities in life are the main drive of money spent. I say play for fun not play to win.

Capitalism. She’s a beach.

I have a bit more fun when I’m winning … I do play for fun; but winning sure makes “fun” come easy.

So… you think that people spend money on reqs will ruin their bank account and be addicted to buying reqs? lol

And, Warzone is not even Pay 2 Win so don’t bother using that phrase.

I honestly think that it is not a huge problem in Halo 5. Unlike games such as Halo 3- Halo 4 where you had to pay extra money to get all the maps and other items (mainly Halo 4), in Halo 5 you don’t have to. Reqs really only apply to Warzone and if you only have common unlocks, then you will be put with others that are at a similar level. People who go and buy all the Reqs will always do it if given the chance and what they do should not be blamed on the developer. Especially since you don’t have to pay to unlock everything.

Odd that you make that distinction, seeing how most PTW games have very large playerbases.
