Not played this game in a while because there are so many aspects that annoy me, but I thought tonight I’d give it another go. It was enjoyable, playing a mix of Slayer and Objective in one playlist, going +30 and having fun listening to some music. Fun it was, until it dawned on me that I was actually spending the majority of my games running around dodging Mantises and Gauss Warthogs. Seriously, why does every BTB map (besides Longbow which I played once in 2 hours) have Mantises? It’s like there is constantly one on the map trying to kill me, and I’m not even joking. I just ragequit because I spent what seemed like a lifetime killing an enemy Mantis, only to run around the corner with no shields and be killed by - you guessed it! - another Mantis!
Big Team Slayer was one of the only playlists I could play for more than 10 minutes at a time, and now that’s been ruined for me as well. Why does every map need Mantises that spawn on 2 minute timers?!

Vehicles I can understand, in fact it’s fun to snipe people out of warthogs as they drive around. But when you have two Mantises and a Gauss hog spawning every 2 minutes each it’s just stupid.
I personally feel that the Mantis is too powerful.
Removing it’s energy shield should fix that.
I would say that the shield makes it unique, but it’s a walking, crouching robot.
It’s quite unique as it is.
In the next Halo game, a new vehicle should be given this unique vehicle shield.
To help whatever vehicle that may be to feel more unique and keep the Mantis from dominating all others.
Well, you and your team mates could always kill them. I think that’s the idea. considering the amount of plasmas and spartan lasers etc in the game it isn’t really that hard to do.
Big Team in Halo 4 has basically become permanent Big Team Heavies. There seems to be an abundance of heavy vehicles on some of the maps that also seem to respawn to fast. The 3+ black screens a game don’t help either since every time it does it all vehicles go back to full health.
I’ll have to say I enjoy the new mix up of playlists since now connecting to incoming players is simplified and now gives me the option to play slayer seriously and objective to troll. I love how they added “big team slayer” meaning old school no fast respawn and friendly fire making the game more of a challenge to work together/communicate and punishing you for dying. I never really liked the “call of duty” quickspawn it just takes the challenge out of surviving in game. I hardly play infinity slayer and its because of the “call of duty” killcam. There’s hardly any deaths in halo worthy of a killcam. Anyways beside that point. My only beef with big team is that there’s not enough maps to play and thats even with me buying the season pass and champions bundle. I feel like I just gave 343 my hard earned cash to get nothing in return… shatter and wreckage are a joke in the big team world and would be better in infinity slayer 4v4. Vehicles are always going to be in big team. honestly I think it needs to go back to old school where the sticky grenades either severely damage vehicles or most of the time blow them up. Grenades are a joke in this game they are like throwing rocks at your enemies… barely any splash damage.
