Why am i, a Platinum 1 being put up against diamond 1s to 3s and onyx players? While I can get bronze and unranked players? Why is matchmaking so broken?
Yeah I hear you. I took a snapshot the other day where I was matched with 2 Onyx and 2 diamonds in free for all and I was on my 3 match unranked. I’ve never been ranked Onyx since the first week when the system ranked pretty much everyone Onyx.
It’s pretty clear the system isn’t doing a great job matching/ranking players. I’m doing some of my own research to see if I can figure out what I think could improve the system.

Well its either search for hours for games, or get fast matching. And the rank doesnt neccesarily mean anything i ranked onyx in FFA once and was consistently destroyed. And the only way you get better is to play people better than you
I feel your pain man, its like if silvers were matched against plats
I think you should have the option like in Reach where you could choose certain options to help you find games, like skill and good connection etc
Happens to me constantly. No gradual step up, just a steep incline of competition.
I agree, plenty of times I get teammates who are definitely not up to par. I always end up doing decent to great while my teammates do horrible. A reason I struggle to get Onyx when I know I can and have plenty of times. I’ll also get a team of platniums while the other team is all Onyx, pretty -Yoinked!- up matching system.

I’ve had a couple issues like this, I am Plat 5 in swat currently, but it’s not foreign to me to be onyx, but I was having a rough go. But being plat 5, I was ranked with a champion, like wtf. I could at least compete, but my team got destroyed, it’s not close to fair.
Had similar issues, was not fair at all.
