Here is a little idea i got after reading coldFUSIONs ‘‘PUSH AND PULL’’ thread.
The Platform Equipment is a equipment that you will use to get faster around the map with, and to get up to the higher spots and places. When you throw out the equipment with with your equipment button, depending on which control settings you use (INSERT) and press the same button again, the equipment will stop and turn into a small platform which you can jump onto. The platform will stay there for about 5 seconds before it disappears.
With this equipment you can, as said earlier get up to higher spots and places, block off lifts, imagine using this on the pit … and stop vehicles from running over you.
> Remember that you can only get so many platorms that you have grenades. You must also be able to get you up to your platform, so you won’t be able to get anywhere.
either way, it sorta breaks the balance
it would work for custom games/Campaign very well though

And i don’t want these grenades to be grenades that you spawn with, or is all over the place like Plasma’s is on Heretic. Only a few ones, maybe 4 on each map, with a spawn time of 3 minutes.
By requiring a prerequisite to be met, in the case of the Cryo Nade water being present, it allows map designers to moderate use of path modifiers. Being able to make a bridge wherever you want would be very hard to balance, like Jetpack.

Not quite like jetpack, you can’t get as far, or high. And you can’t really get on the top off the map like Jetpack either shooting down at other players. + it would require excellent timing to place the platforms as you want it, so it includes skill, something jetpack lacks. And teamwork, you can even help teammates out of tricky situations.

I’m not saying the platform grenade would function like Jetpack. I’m saying Jetpack is hard to build a balanced map around because you can fly into the air at any moment and the platform grenade would be hard to balance for the same reasons. You can build a bridge anywhere you want.
A better implementation of temporary bridges might be having a switch that extends an Energy Bridge for the player. You could even place the location of the switch and Energy Bridge so that one player must activate it for another player, forcing team work.

It would not be as hard as jetpack to balance because it really isn’t on the same level as jetpack, it is not that extreme when it comes to map movement + it will be pick ups where only 1 or 2 persons can carry it at the same time, which actually is the biggest difference between them. Now not everyone can go everywhere, but only the persons that actually fights for the grenades can go where they want. It also takes some degree of skill which games it much easier to balance = It sounds op if you can do it, and do it every time, but you wouldn’t. I can see my invention function on every halo 3 and halo 2 map, especially Guardian and The Pit,but not the Jetpack. But the grenades have some big advantages and should maybe, be an equipment instead.
‘‘The grenades can be used to get to higher spots and places.
The grenades can be used to block off lifts.
The grenades can be used to stop vehicles.’’
Grenade jumping for the masses! Simplified and literalized. Dumbed down but on the rise! We’ve got more grenades types than will fit in your bandolier! So come on down to Halo 4, 434 Kirkland Way.
As long as its a equipment I’m fine with the idea because only one person could have it at a time because he or she (ya I’m not sexist I represent the ladies that play halo) was the better Spartan and got to it first or fought for it and got it. Would a much better idea than the jetpack for MM because it dosnt brack the gameplay that badly.

Yes, i think it’s settled. An equipment it is. It takes skill, it has much more options, and doesn’t break map control too much.
