Platform advantage is real

If there’s anything I’ve learned from having played several hours on both my Xbox One, and my roommate’s Series X, its that frames make an enormous difference in Infinite.

Everything about the game feels different between platforms, and my performance is radically improved when I play on the Series X. Not only am I getting 4x the visual feedback playing with 120 fps over 30, but the Aim Assist of every single weapon feels far stickier and which weapons I do and don’t use is directly impacted by it.

On Xbox One I often just stick with the AR and BR wherever possible, as both these weapons have high aim assist values in the first place. And I have -never- gotten a perfect medal with anything other than the BR and Shock Rifle. But on the Series X? Suddenly I feel confident with the Sidekick, scoring several perfects every night. The Commando stops feeling worthless and actually does become a powerful mid-long range tool I will instinctively drop my AR for. The Stalker feels like it’s actually useable. Even the Plasma Pistol tracking feels far more likely to connect. And the Sniper stops feeling like the most difficult in the series and starts feeling significantly easier than H3’s. Somewhere around Reach ease-of-use.

The power gap created by just being able to maximize the Sidekick over the AR in unranked is significant enough to allow me to easily take on 2v1s against AR users and honestly most enemy players in general.

I average around a 40% accuracy on Xbox One. But on Series X I get consistent 50%+ games.

I’m not sure if this is a placebo effect, if it’s just frame advantage based on visual feedback and receiving more information second to second, or if aim assist is actually FPS based, meaning you get 4x the AA at 4x the frames. But it feels pretty broken to play on Series X knowing how many people are playing at 30 frames on One (and experiencing that directly) and 60 on PC or for anyone who lacks high or variable refresh rate displays.
