In my opinion I thought in the Halo 5 Beta the Spartans’ armor looked ‘plasticky’ and not metal like it should. I would love fr this to be changed to a more metal look in the final outcome.
THoughts?

I’ve seen gameplay and the gloves are my only concern. You can see what clearly is a seem on the gloves which are supposed to be part of the body suit with metal plating on top.
Dude, Halo 3 Spartans look like plastic.
The paint is matte red and matte blue, or flat red and blue. That’s why they look like that. All of the armors of all the games have that paint job. You may wanna go back and look.
I loved the new look it makes it seem just, well… I just like the look, but some armor looks a little rubbery, but still I like it.
I admit they look a little too shiny.
But then again, War Games is a simulation, so it kinda makes sense. It’d be cool if, the more you play, the armor gets more dirt and the damage becomes more obvious. Once you get killed, your armor resets.

I kinda saw this when they were showing off the spartan armor models. They kinda looked like actual action figure toys. Not protective enough.
I would not really mind if the suits look all new and cool. I really like the look of the gloves btw, it looks super slick.

Even Halo 3 had grimy chipped off pieces on the armor and mud covering chiefs shoes, these new spartans look like go go power rangers as though the intention is to appeal to kids. I honestly do think they look like plastic.
You didn’t get what I said. The paint style on all armors have in matte. Matte red, matte black, matte blue and matte green. It’s all a flat color and has a lot to do with that aesthetic. If you think glossy metal looks less like plastic than a matte paint job, then that’s your opinion. But if you ask me, I’d rather have matte style over glossy shine.
Also, the reason why Spartans armor in Reach is battle torn is because that’s the militaristic base of all the Spartans. Training exercises, live ops and then the war coming to Reach. IV’s don’t see that action in their time of “peace.” Plus they’re simulated battles aboard the most advanced starship yet and armor is under constant maintenance. It all has to with the times.

the only thing reach did right was the armor. If 343 got back to the used and gritty looking armor, they would look great. But yes they and H3 Spartans look like plastic.

As do the guns in H3

They look like plastic because the majority of their armor isn’t steel-colored?
The Spartans looking plastic is apparently a lighting bug.
I wouldn’'t want shiny armor but I would like that slightly metallic feel of what the armor looked like in the Spartan Ops Cutscenes. Like that
The only Halo 5 armor we’ve seen so far is beta-class. Nothing is final yet.
I agree that I would like to see more weathered armor in Halo 5. Halo 3’s were too plastic & same with Halo 4 , not including Chief’s armor.
