I believe I touched on this topic before what plasma rifle would you like to say Halo Infinite the one from Halo CE Halo 2 or Halo 3
I like the design from Reach the best, but the stun mechanism from HCE? That yoink is just too good not to have!
I think the Plasma Rifle has an iconic look but I don’t mind if different versions of it are present in a Halo game.
I’d like to see the Plasma rifle return to it’s original look, but function like the Covenant equivalent of an SMG. That would help diversify the weapon pool, but also make feel more standard with weapon subsets in the game sandbox.
I’d like to see the Storm Rifle look more like like the Plasma Repeater from Reach. Thay way all the Covenant weapons have a unified look to them. Hell, it can function just like the Storm Rifle, or even have a 5-round burst mode, just to give it a bit of variance from the Human AR.
I think the Promethean weapons need an overhaul. Maybe have all the weapons start as the Boltshot, where the character “plugs” the weapon into a new frame, and it morphs around the Boltshot, thus turning it into the new/desired weapon.
Would give the Promethean weapons an interesting aesthetic of technological superiority, but retain function of a weapon. I like the idea of the dual fire mode of the Promethan weapons, like the light rifle being a burst fire when hip fired, and a semi-auto when ADS/zoom fired. Gives the weapons a dual purpose, utilitarian feel.
Well, Id like to see something that mostly resembles Halo Combat Evolved variant.
Reach model, CE function. 
Personally, I like the Reach model/function best but H3 is super similar to that so it’d be between those two for me.

I like the idea of dual wielding but still needs to have the stun affect from Halo CE
I just want the original bungie designs not the storm rifle. Brute one was a given in 5.

That’s the version I want Infinite’s Plasma Rifle to take after.
