Plasma weapons and replenishing ammo

Has anyone else noticed that the plasma weaponry and even the Gravity Hammer act just like any other UNSC weapon.

For example if I have a pulse carbine at half ammo I can just walk over to another one on the rack and fill the battery back up, what’s even more strange is that this works with the Gravity Hammer too.

I hope that this is changed before launch as it feels weird, just a nickpick but I still think it’s important

I’m fine with it, but it also weirds me out but that’s entirely due to nostalgia

It took me by suprise but I actually like it. The only bad thing I see from this is there will be less of a given weapon on thw map compared to how it used to be I think. If I have gravity hammer with 30% ammo and walk over a new one. Does the new on dissaper entirely or will that leave the new one with 30% ammo as well. Does anybody know?

Then what is the point of the plasma weapons having batteries then? That’s a big part of what makes them unique. Being able to replenish the battery simply by finding another of the same weapon is stupid and makes no sense

Charge-based weapons replenishing like bullet-based weapons? I’m fine with it but I’m so used to the old way of it that it kind of weirds me out.

Taking the battery out of a weapon and putting it into the one you’re holding that has a lesser-charged battery isn’t that complicated. It’s like stealing the batteries from the TV remote and putting them into your 360 controller in a way.

I feel like instead of a vent function there should be a “replace battery” animation when you go to a new weapon and try to “reload”. Then again there’s no animation for picking up ammo for magazine fed weapons so I’m not sure how well that would translate into the game.

Logically speaking it would be quicker to just toss the old one and pick up the new.

That is true

I dislike it because it’s new, but at the same time, it does speed up the process of running around a room, looking for the Plasma Rifle with the highest charge. Not so useful in multiplayer, but definitely useful in Campaign (And firefight, if it’s a thing. PLEASE LET FIREFIGHT BE A THING). I think this is a good change.

You’re reaching with that. Where is it ever explained that this is what happens? Unless it’s visible to the player then it shouldn’t be feature in the game. Besides, as I already said it’s a big part of what makes plasma weapons unique in the games.

I guess it’s a logical move to go for this change. However it also applies to power weapons like the gravity hammer which has a negative impact on the amount of charges in the game. For example if you have a hammer with 30% that just goes lost, it won’t leave a hammer with it for someone else.

A bit off topic perhaps but this is case with the weapon racks as well… if you are like only missing a few clips it will just absorb the entire weapon. This probably is to reset the rack, but I’d rather see that it dumps the the rest of weapon on the floor and starts reloading the rack.

I like it I think it makes sense for weapons like the pulse carbine but it makes no sense with the gravity hammer

I’m fine with that I think, if you go to that other identical weapon anyway it’s basically just the same as swapping them.

Dreadful simply dreadful

Not really a reach, unless taking batteries out of something is something that doesn’t make sense to you I guess. And I didn’t say that’s what happened, I just said that it isn’t complicated.

An animation for that would be nice, though. Keeps the uniqueness of charge-based weapons.

I think this is actually a good change. It brings plasma weapons in line with the unsc weapons making them more appealing. I’ve almost never used plasma weapoms over all the halo games for pvp because one of their draw backs was finding another weapon that had a higher battery than the one you are currently holding. It just makes resupplying plasma weapons a pain, but now it won’t be so difficult which increases plasma weapoms usefulness. I do agree it doesn’t feel the same as other titles which is sad, but change isn’t always bad.
