One of the weapon features I missed the most from Halo 1 is the Plasma Rifle and Pistol stun. It was great for players who could use positioning and stealth as a strategy to gain an advantage, e.g. gaining the drop on the rocket guy from behind or above.
I realized that with dual wielding in H2 and H3 that there is no way that they could’ve had the weapons stun. I thought this removed a unique function of those weapons and made the human/convenant weapons too ‘same-y’ and less distinguishing strategic advantages towards using one over the other in different scenarios.
Now that Halo 5 doesn’t have DW, I think it’d be great to revert back to the having the Plasma weapons stun. Especially with the Promethean weapons and the quick kill times in general, it would make it seem really unlikely that I’d ever use the Covie weapons unless they provided me with a specific use in play.
What do you all think?
What’s the stun effect? Sorry
A stun feature is an interesting idea. I’d love for that sort of thing to return for H5.

The Plasma Rifle and Plasma Pistol would “stun” the other player and drastically reduce their ability to turn and aim. If you caught someone at short-medium range from the side or behind you’d most likely win the battle. It was great for strategic use if you have camo, or if you knew good angles on the map to flank the other team.
Because of the mobility options; YES!
Even keeping with the non-hitscan nature of it, have it slow down any target’s speed with normal movement, sprinting and of course clambering. No to messing with one’s ability to aim BUT one’s ability to move, stun’her up!

This would add a great mechanic and balancing act for player and add alot of tactics IMHO
Yeah don’t inhibit the ability to turn and aim, but slowing movement would be good, but not too drastically like 5 shots and you’re standing still. That would be OP.

A reduction in top speed like H4, but never something meant to stop us completely
