I was playing auto slayer on H2C and I don’t have an issue with the mode or map itself, but why in the name of the Halos would you put plasma rifles as the starting/only weapon on midship! They’re literally one of the worst guns to get kills with in the game. Literally whoever grabs the sword and BRs first wins the game basically and in no way whatsoever is it fun to play like that! I get midship is the covenant map where you start with sticky grenades but why do the weapons need to change?
BR slayer you don’t start with carbines as far as I know, you start with the BR and even if you did start with the carbine you can actually kill with it.
Just to state too everyone in my game did really bad, my team and the enemy team, execpt the guy that got the sword and another who manged to keep hogging the carbines and brs all game.
EDIT: Just because it apparently seems like it needs to be said even though I said it already, I have nothing against AR slayer and I actually prefer it over BR slayer most of the time. My point was just having the plasma rifle as the only starting weapon you get is a stupid design choice when the gun is borderline useless in killing people, it’s only decent at taking down shields if you’re close enough. At least with the AR and SMG you have a lot better chance at killing with them so it at least gives you a better chance to fight back.
Its a pretty annoying quirk about Midship and Heretic. It really bothers me that in ranked H3 Heretic still spawns you with plasmas. Midship only has two Carbines on the default map, it would benefit with a more thoughtful weapon set.

Yes 100% the assault rifle/SMG is better. You can actually get a kill with the assault rifle so you at least have a better chance to be able to fight back, where as the plasma rifle is only decent at taking down shields if you’re close enough range. I wouldnt be as against it if plasma rifle starts was a action sack thing with no precision weapons.
