Is anyone else going to miss the Plasma Rifle? It’s been a familiar weapon in every Halo game, and it’s replacement, the Storm Rifle, just doesn’t seem close enough to the Plasma Rifle or Repeater. It seems to be a much more humanized or Forerunner-ized weapon, with the screen. I would have liked to see both weapons, but having different roles.

I don’t mind it getting an upgrade. Ever since Halo CE, I felt the Plasma Rifle took a back seat to a variety of other, more useful weapons available. Hopefully the Storm Rifle can bring it back to providence.
The Plasma Rifle’s been my favorite gun since Halo 2. It’s always given off this badass vibe that no other Halo weapon has managed to match. I just wish 343i had made the Storm Rifle look more like the Plasma Rifle. Always thought the Plasma Rifle was -Yoink!- looking. As far as looks, though, the Storm Rifle looks kind of…blah.
I’m not going to miss it too much. I didn’t use it that much besides in Halo: CE and Halo:CEA

Storm rifle is a worthy successor; I will not miss the PR.
I find the Plasma Rifle almost useless tbh.
Not going to miss it, because by the time you’ve stripped away a shield not only has it pretty much over-heated but a Spartan’s AR will end up killing you while you try and cool it down to speed it’s ROF back up.
Storm rifle looks like a step in the right direction.
I love the plasma rifle it was a strong rifle in Halo 3 and Reach and I love using it I will miss it and I hope that the storm rifle looked like the plasma rifle.

This, but I will slightly miss the plasma rifle even though I rarely used it.
But the plasma rifle belongs in Halo.
The Storm Rifle will probably be something that will grow on me, like a sequel to a movie. It can be the best sequel ever, but the first will still be remembered as better.
It looks like they combined the Repeater and the Rifle to make it.
The Plasma Rifle can’t be out. They might as well remove Spartans, Assault Rifles, and Energy Swords while they’re at it.
Yeah It does look like a worthy successor but I’m still going to miss Dual wielding them in multi player.
I don’t understand why the Plasma Rifle is out, for me it is as iconic as the Assault Rifle or Needler. It just screams Halo to me.
The weird thing is that it’s been completely replaced by a much less interesting and very ugly looking gun (with a ridiculous name to boot). Why didn’t 343i simply update the gameplay characteristics of the Plasma Rifle instead? We keep getting ARs that get tweaked and the AR returns again… but the Plasma Rifle gets the cut.

This. The Storm Rifle is ugly as sin, it looks like a UNSC weapon painted in Covenant colours. It is not worthy of the Plasma Rifle in any sense. All it can do is alienate real Halo fans. We don’t need a new ugly gun that acts the same as a beautiful, classic, iconic gun. The Plasma Rifle is my favourite weapon, and always has been. If 343i has really taken it out, I will be very disappointed.

…But I like the Storm Rifle.
Im sad to see the plasma rifle go. I think that any weapon that have been in the series since halo 1 should never be taken from a halo game. EVER! I guess since they got rid of the smg in halo reach, it was silly that they diddnt get rid of the plasma rifle as well, ecause it was basically the covenant version of the smg. I guess since there is no point of 2 rapid fire weapons, they got rif of the single handed smg’s (plasma rifle/SMG) Personally, im upset to see it go, but i just hope the anniversary noise is added into the storm rifle to give it that awesome “plasmedic” effect.
When I first saw the Storm Rifle my discernment was that it was an artistic re-imagination of the Covenant Carbine. And the design impressed me as such. I was imagining it to have a reload similar to the Concussion Rifle and envisioned the screen on top to be a very functional looking scope display, which made a lot of sense to me since Halo 3’s design whilst having the ability to zoom seemed to be lacking a scope 
and to my knowledge the covenant don’t utilise a visor zoom like Spartans/ Marines. Alas no it is an entirely new weapon… not only that it is replacing the classic, iconic Plasma Rifle… whilst not even appreciably changing up gameplay function short of a damage boast. Arrgggg!
The sad thing is the Plasma Rifle could have made an excellent side arm but I would bet the Promethean side arm is a full auto machine pistol/ SMG equivalent and stole its place.
The Storm Rifle looks like an ugly Carbine concept reject. All other weapons have a name that is relevant to what the weapon does; Needler, Sniper Rifle, Spartan Laser etc. But Storm Rifle?? It harnesses the power… of storms??
Plasma Rifle is my favourite Halo weapon. Not for its performance, but for its amazing appearance and it’s history in the franchise and association with Elites. I am honestly gutted that it isn’t in Halo 4, especially when it’s partner weapon (the Plasma Pistol) is in the game.
Maybe there should be a Thunder Pistol to go along with the Storm Rifle? How about that guys famous Tornado Gun?
