Why though? The Plasma Rifle, as its descendant, the Storm Rifle, are pulse weapons, you dont full auto them as it over heats and you have to wait a lot longer to fire again, the storm rifle might over heat faster but it emphasizes the point of pulse firing.
Bringing back the Plasma Rifle will have about the same effect as the Storm Rifle has now. It was also too inaccurate.

No the storm rifle is its 100% better replacement. Both guns play identically just 1 is better. The plasma rifle was barely used in the older halo’s

Sorry but that gun was just a peashooter version of the storm rifle
The storm rifle outclasses it in every way, there would be no point.
It’s a classic Halo weapon. I’m sure 343 would love to put it into the req system so people can keep buying packs for a chance to get it.
I really enjoyed the plasma rifle, sure it did crap damage but it was pretty accurate and had long range. I really want it back.

You mean the brute plasma rifles? They were also in ODST
One way to do it would be to have the plasma rifle have a slower rate of fire. Something like 4-6 shots per second, but also have it be a 6-9 shot kill. This would give it a 1.5 second kill time if you were to land all shots. Additionally, have it be recoil free with no bloom. Where you point it is where the bolts will go every time. This would make it like the Halo CE plasma rifle again, even more so if it had movement stun too. Have the brute plasma rifle be the ultra rare upgrade, and the scarab gun be the mythic/legendary. It would be perfect.

The CE plasma rifle was amazing in MP (and infuriating) with the way it slowed movement and turning speeds.

It adds more content, like the classic halo Battle rifle with the current battle rifle or the old and new rocket launchers. There is not a lot of differences but brings back some content people enjoyed. Also, it doesn’t go to say that this gun can be tweaked such as; How much ammo it holds, rate of fire, how the overheat works ect

To those who are saying the plasma rifle sucks, do you not remember the monster it was in Halo CE? It slowed the movement of your opponent, dropped their shields in a split second and finished them off within another second.
If the plasma rifle is to return, then make it the version that was in Halo CE.
I totally forgot about the plasma rifle…I want! Or even the brute plasma rifle for a throwback!
