Simple. Don’t necessarily have to specify, after all a PR is a PR. But do you prefer it to the Storm Rifle or the Storm Rifle to it.
My answer: I prefer the Storm Rifle all day erey to the Plasma Rifle, even the CE variant.

Even though there was an Plasma Repeater in Halo Reach it still had Plasma Rifle
I want the Plasma Rifle back, with the RED Brute Variant as the Skin. Shame it didn’t appear. Would’ve been great to have. I’m also surprised that the Storm Rifle didn’t come with a RED skin.

In terms of looks I’d go with the Plasma Rifle, but for gameplay the Storm Rifle.
As for the Brute skin I don’t see why there wasn’t a Red skinned Storm Rifle in Halo 4 to begin with. Isn’t it the only weapon without a skin?
Storm Rifle, works perfectly with my Light Rifle and feels really nice
I honestly don’t care all that much for the two. I’ve mastered the Storm Rifle and while it does perform better than the Plasma Rifle, it looks horrible compared to the PR.
Storm Rifle=Better performance, overall better weapon.
Plasma Rifle=Looks better, more fun to use imo.

The red skin isn’t present as there is no brute faction. The brutes preferred faster rates of fire than higher damage on their variant of the popular plasma rifle. Thus the plasma was red, and not as powerful, but the rate-of-fire was drastically increased as a result of less heat for the rifle to vent.

Gotta hand it to the Didact, he’s pretty thorough in weapon specimens. Even if he didn’t collect it, the Storm Elites might have them around as trophies as to say “Hey guys, I got this from killing a chieftain!”
The Plasma Rifle/ Brute Plasma Rifle are both unique looking weapons when compared to other gaming franchises. Also, the Plasma Rifle is very iconic to the Halo series.
The Plasma repeater/ storm rifle are both generic looking weapons with forgettable designs.
It’s a shame they ever removed the plasma rifle from the Halo series…
Honestly, I like the Storm Rifle more. The Plasma Rifle was pretty weak. I use the Storm Rifle all the time and love it!
Storm Rifle, its better looking and is just better.
CE Plasma Rifle, because it actually did something to make it unique to the other weapons; it was more than point at the enemy, and do damage. Plasma stun >
Storm Rifle if we are counting any other Plasma Rifle, though.
The storm rilfe is actually worth using and can get kills easily with a cam class.
CE Plasma Rifle. Easily.
Storm rifle. Superior performance, especially in bursts.
Personally, I want to see the Plasma Rifle back as a somewhat-nerfed secondary, creating a new SMG weapon sub-class. Along with it’s UNSC counterpart of course. And maybe a form of the Brute Spiker for the trifecta?
