Halo without the Plasma Rifle…I can’t comprehend it.
This Storm Rifle doesn’t seem to be anything like the Plasma Rifle too!
So far, there is no evidence supporting that the PR is removed. We only see 2 Elites at best so far in the revealed content, and we only had a chance to see the Carbine and the Sword being wielded by Elites.
I’ll be sad if the Plasma Repeater is retired. I enjoy making that weapon viable and killing DMR wielders with it while they gasp in astonishment.
Frankie has confirmed that the Plasma Rifle is gone.
The Plasma Repeater was terrible, only useful against idiots and completely useless against any player with a brain.
The Storm Rifle acts a lot like the Plasma Rifle, specifically the Halo:CE one. It looks great, seems pretty powerful. Much better than the underused plasma rifle of older games.
It was impossible to heal the plasma rifle from H2, where the gun was reduced in size and potency.
I’m liking the Storm Rifle’s look, especially now that it’s similar to the Carbine. The uniformity makes the 2 truly a pair. Of course, that does not mean uniformity in weapon design is good.

but that aside the new weapon looks really powerful hopefully they don’t Nerf it before release like bungie did with the repeater
the Storm Rifle looks cool… but I always liked the Plasma Rifle no matter how good or bad it was, it just looks good, I’d like it to be somewhere, even if it’s just an aesthetic piece on some Elites…

The Storm Rifle looks like someone got the Carbine, the Plasma Rifle and the Repeater and mixed them together to get the Storm Rifle. I think it looks great.

It’s 4 years after the war. Of course things are going to change. Newer weapons get made.

Perhaps their reverence for Forerunner technology had decreased enough for them to finally try a few innovations?
