These guns are stupidly overpowered, if you come within a yard of a player with these guns you lose and their is nothing you can do about it, doesn’t matter if I have an SMG out or Assault Rifle, only gun that has a chance is a shotgun. Why are these low skilled guns so overpowered, Halo is supposed to be a skilled game and those guns take little skill to wield and are easy to pick up, they should not be so powerful.
Their primary purpose is to melt shields. If they don’t do that well, then they have no purpose. The best they can do is make them overheat quicker.

If they make them overheat quicker then fine but my point is that they are currently way overpowered. Again you cannot win a fight against these weapons with anything other than a shotgun or scattershot. How these things are still in the game and have not been needed is beyond me, if they cannot be balanced then they should be removed from the sandbox.
No way near as bad as the Boltshot.

I don’t see how the Boltshot is more OP. It has a lower TTK than every loadout weapon as opposed to the very short TTK of the Storm Rifle.

I this a joke? The boltshot is awful you can beat it in a gun fight with about every weapon.
I disagree… The plasma rifle sucks it took me awhile to finish it’s commendation because every one was whooping me when I used it. The Strom rifle has a real short ttk but it over heats so you better land those shots and with the advanced movement it’s not that easy to do. Take into account you have to be close up for them to be effective. Just because more weapons are actually useful now doesn’t mean there isn’t skill in using them. You still have to know when and where you should use them.
Other than fiesta, do people even pick them up really? In ranked, everyone is using magnums. I rarely see people using them in warzone.
I only use plasma rifles for grunt mechs (sorrow of teash) and I’ll pick up a boltshot in team arena from time to time.
If I get a blissful slumber from a random weapon req, cool, but I never specifically pick one and I don’t recall being up against them all that much.
I only use the BPR to pop shields and then I’ll switch to my main for the headshot. It’s not great with health. You might have a point with the storm rifle, but it’s only because it’s really simple to bypass the overheat feature.
Yeah, and shield-oriented weapons (i.e. most of the Covenant ones) make comms really hard too. I’ve put well over 2 days into the game and the only Covenant masteries I have are Plasma nade and Energy Sword. But hey, there have to be some weapons to serve that purpose.
I do, however, have to disagree with the notion that the Storm Rifle is OP. the Plasma Pistol, when paired with a Magnum, is rather OP. The Storm Rifle, on the other hand, overheats way too quickly, isn’t as accurate as an AR. and doesn’t really fill its intended purpose as well as the Brute Plasma Rifle, which doesn’t appear on that many maps anyway. Just keep your AR or, if you’re confident in your headshot ability, pick up a PP.

TTK for specifically JUST the Storm Rifle and Plasma Rifle are in-line with every other CQC weapon. What you’re specifically aiming at is hot these 2 weapons specifically can result in a melee death after just 2-4 shots.
Use melee, two hits and it’s over, brother

I don’t think the bolt shot is more OP, end of the day you can beat a bolt shot as long as you hit your shots which to be fair the bolt shot requires less accuracy so it’s kind of unfair but not too unbalanced. The storm rifle and plasma rifle however cannot be beat, just think about any encounter you have had where someone has one of those weapons and you are 1v1, how many times have you beat that person, your shields are gone in a second and then your toast and their is literally no time to react and do nothing because it just melts you. Imo the way those guns are implemented in halo 5 they should be power weapons because they are that strong, even the damage drop off with range isn’t bad and people can still destroy from a decent distance away given the size of maps in halo 5.

I’ve had less experience of getting melted by the storm rifle so maybe it is more balanced than the plasma rifle but the plasma rifle is definitely overpowered and it makes no difference if I have an AR out or hit ever shot with the magnum because it kills you.way before you can get four shots on a guy with a magnum. I get that in a game where everyone starts with a ranged weapon that close range weapons are at a disadvantage but H5 maps are very small and it’s very easy for someone to get behind you or up close with Spartan abilities, for this reason the plasma rifle needs a nerd and needs to be more in line with the SMG.

Oh yeah, totally agree with you on the Storm Rifle and Brute Plasma Rifle. You can camp and poke your head around a corner and take out an enemy real fast. Any CQC usually ends up going in favor of the player with one of those weapons. It amplifies the issues with the H5BR even more too. I was only curious why Kotor thought the Boltshot of all weapons was more potent than those two.

I could show a hundred videos where someone tags me for 2 seconds with a plasma rifle and that’s it, I’m dead as a door nail and you literally cannot do anything. I struggle to understand how it’s still in the game as op as it is.

I agree that the plasma rifle is somewhat situational but it excells so much in that situation, all you have to do is crouch and wait for someone to come round a corner and it’s gg. I just think it need a slight nerf to give people a chance to react and could get the weapon. As it is currently if someone decides to be that player that crouches about then the weapon is OP.

Any weapon can seem OP if you are camping with them.

The Combo Pivello is the most OP
Try Plasma Rifle and Magnum

I agree. Its just 4 shots with almost no aiming and autoheadshot.
