I understand the commendation for this weapon is going to be difficult to get. The PP already does less damage than it did in reach, but why is it so quick to overheat? Time and time again I find myself sure of a kill only to have the pistol overheat just before I get the killing shot off. I literally HAVE to end up stealing kills just to progress on the commendation.
Not to mention ruining my K/D. Eh who cares about that anyways. . .
Anyone have this commendation? Have any tips besides going for people fighting each other?
Well, you could try damaging someone’s shields first with a DMR or BR, then finish them off with the plasma pistol. Hope this helps.
I just hit Expert for my Plasma Pistol. And I’m not even trying to get it Mastered.
Using it to finish off kills is perfect for this weapon.
It takes 13 total shots (3 less than the Boltshot’s single shots!) to kill someone with a Plasma Pistol. But it’s the overheat that makes getting single kills with this gun tough.
Personally, I don’t see the use of the plasma pistol other than disabling vehicles.
Try throwing a nade first and then finish them off with the PP.
Also a melee and 5 shots/overcharge will kill a Spartan if you can manage it.
mix an AR or Storm Rifle or Supressor
punish them with that weapons and finish them with the PP
I’ve just started working on this, so I have very few kills with it. All of which are on people who were already low shields.
It’s neigh impossible to kill someone with it in a 1v1 battle, unless they’ve already been damaged.
I might try using pulse grenades, I heard somewhere that they can help.
I’d like if 343 added some sort of Plasma Pistol gametype to action sack. It would help somewhat.
