Anyone have some tips on good classes/playlists to implement into my game to help with the achieving of Plasma Pistol or Storm Rifle kills? Any tips or tricks would be a huge help as well!
I would suggest using Dexterity. It shortens the cooldown-times of those weapons when they overheat. Try to get enemies who are distracted from something else. Rumble Pit or Regicide are good playlists for this. Try to get in Range first, and to get the first shot. Good things for that are the active camo and the hologram (and crouch-camping around corners).
And for the Plasma Pistol, try weakening the enemy first (with the Storm Rifle for example). Weak em enough, shoot him a few times after his shild dropped, and then switch to the PP and zap him. Dexterity works here too and this method saves ammo for the PP.
Hope this bit helps.
The storm rifle is a transition gun between the versatile mid range AR and the rush up and spray suppressor, capable of being effective at both, to a lesser extent. With this in mind don’t be afraid to try both tactics with the storm rifle, depending on the situation. It does take a bit getting use to, paticuarly overheating is a danger for the storm rifle novice watch that.
That said yea give the SR a shot, it’s a cool gun. I have it 7/7 mastered.
For the Storm Rifle, I succeeded in Mastering it through a loadout containing the following:
[/li]- Primary: Storm Rifle (I wonder why I chose this one?
-
Secondary: Battle Rifle (For those engagements that the SR cannot reach)
-
Grenade: Frag (Always throw the Frag at your enemy’s foot and then give a lethal burst of Plasma)
-
Armor Ability: Auto Sentry (This is best with Rumble Pit, it allows you to accelerate your StormRiflic needs while assisting you as well)
-
CoDified Perk 1: Firepower (Gee I wonder…)
-
CoDified Perk 2: Dexterity (The Storm Rifle has the longest reload/overheat time, and it will also assist that sacrificial strafe
-
Controls: BUMPER JUMPER (When you choose it, you can’t go back)
-
As for the Plasma Pistol…*
Well…
The Storm Rifle is a great weapon, if you were able to master the AR you’ll be able to master the SR just as easily, if not more so.
As for the Plasma Pistol, the best thing you can do is put one in every loadout and use it specifically when you know you can. For instance, if an enemy is one-shot and you’re full shield, or if you accidentally overheat your SR in a fight.
Also, Plasma Overcharge + Storm Rifle is a great combo. Especially with the Autosentry or the Regen Field.
I love the Storm Rifle! It’s also my secondary weapon (LightRifle being the primary).
The Storm Rifle’s range is lesser than the AR, but further than the Suppressor. It’s harder to use than the AR, but it’s kill time is a tad bit faster. If you can manage the heat with the Storm Rifle, you’ll be able to shoot indefinitely; This will definitely help you out in a lot of situations, and I suggest you try to make this a first priority when trying to master it.
I also use Autosentry, which definitely helps shorten your kill times. But don’t be like most Autosentry newbies, plant it before the fight. Look at your Motion Sensor, if someone is coming, and you know you got the time to bring it out, then do it. Never later. Never during. Never after.
I also use the Pulse Grenade. The best way to use it is by throwing it at the enemy’s feet, and then finishing them off with the Storm Rifle.
Hope that helps.
As for PP, I only need about 79 more kills with it to Master it (and I’ll be done with all the weapons). The best way to Master it is by firstly going into Regicide (it’s FFA, and there’s only 5 enemies). Next, put on Dexterity and have an assault rifle as your primary. When you meet an enemy, shoot the AR, pop the shields, put a few more shots in, then switch out to the PP and finish them off. This has definitely helped me reach the Mastery, but it’s still hard to do, I won’t lie.
Hope I’ve helped out somehow!
The key to the storm rifle is burst firing. It is quite accurate from a farther range than you’d think. Thruster pack is likely the best AA to combo with weapons that have overheating/cooldown because you can thruster in an unhittable direction and essentially get an automatic reload.
The first thing you need to master is aiming mixed with shooting in bursts. With any range other than point blank, you never want to hold the trigger down for an extended period of time. Seems obvious but the storm rifle really demands it.
easy way to get pp kills: play against me. im probably the most laughable, broken player in stock right now. seriously. your bullets will find a way to my face, no matter where you are. lol (it’s important to laugh at one’s failings. if i didn’t id be dead right now)
I have found that the easiest plasma pistol kills there are can be found in capture the flag. Specifically, when the enemy player is determined to stop your flag carrier even when he knows it is suicidal. Often times he will not even bother to shoot back and will focus on the flag carrier, which is a gimme kill of your choosing obviously.
Other than that, keep in mind when you have extreme advantage over someone and use a plasma pistol to finish them off. I would recommend pulse grenades seeing as they instantly strip shields when they hit the ground next to them, there is no chance of dodging a well place pulse grenade.
As for AA’s you could either use thruster if you are decent at ninja’ing you can use this to get a whack on them without them getting one on you, or you can use hologram and trick them to look a different direction, side smack them without them hitting you back, and then easily finish them.
As you can see it is all about getting an advantage on a weakened/unaware opponent if you want easy PP kills
Use them both together, it may seem like a crappy loadout (and it totally is) but if you are looking to get kills with both weapons they work great together! Also, use dexterity, resupply and auto sentry. They will help a lot!
On smaller maps like Adrift and Skyline try using this loadout:
Storm Rifle
Magnum
Pulse Grenade
Thruster Pack
Resupply/Grenadier
Stealth/Dexterity
Use Resupply if you are able to stay alive for extended periods of time. Use Grenadier if you tend to die a lot. A well placed grenade can cut your kill time in half.
Stealth can be helpful on maps like Adrift where a lot of players use Promethean Vision. Dexterity is useful as it shortens the cooldown time.
If you’re looking for a particular playlist to help you get thise kills, I would suggest Rumble Pit or Multi-Team. These are both very chaotic playlists, so I would go with Grenadier and Dexterity for the above loadout. Good Luck!
For PP, couldn’t you just charge it, strip their shields, then blast 'em a couple more times?
> For PP, couldn’t you just charge it, strip their shields, then blast 'em a couple more times?
No. The PP is currently a 12sk, and it only takes 4 shots to strip shields.
Thank you all for your quick input! I am currently trying many of your methods, though i havent quite mastered any of them yet so i still need to do some testing! Please feel free to continue with any tips you might have for me, they are much appreciated!(:
Id also like to let everyone know the progress im making. It seems the best way so far is to play CTF with an AR Primary, PP secondary, with Frag, Hologram, AA Efficiency, and dexterity. You can play really defensively, though you wont get as many kills, but you might win the game at least(due to your huh… cough cough… strategic defense of your flag, not camping… cough cough). Offensively can be promising as well as long as you pick your battles carefully i.e. picking up one shots, killing enemies after your teammates have died, or coming up behind the enemy. Both work well, however, it depends on the people youre playing against and the map that has been chosen. You’ll most likely want to take the defensive route it seems
