Plasma pistol ruining vehicle combat?

SO if everybody can spawn with a plasma pistol, wouldn’t it ruin vehicle combat? I don’t think i can possibly go 10 meters without being EMP’d to death.

I think that the pp is less effective than reach, it looks like it locks on less

It might not lock on as much but what about those huge, slow moving vehicles? They wont stand a chance .

I doubt everyone will be using the Plasma Pistol but I do that wish 343i had considered more attractive alternative secondary weapons such as the Plasma Rifle and SMG to dissuade players from constantly relying on it.

I don’t think so, for various reasons. Not everyone will pick a plasma pistol and even if they did that’s not to say that it wouldn’t require skill to hit a vehicle with an overcharged shot. From what I know the plasma pistol has lower tracking and stopping vehicles with an overcharged shot will require a bit of a lead shot. Oh I also believe the plasma pistol’s charge wastes extremely quick with every overcharge.

Well the wraith has boost so has a chance of avoiding the shot and the scorpion can still rotate its turret while EMPed so i think that it is perfectly balanced to be honest, you need something to give you team a chance in taking out enemy vehicles. The weaker the vehicle the faster so its kinda sorted already.

Just level up to SR50, then choose operator. BAM.

yea it will, vehicles becomes useless when a individual can spawn with a perfectically easy counter. (PP + 2 plasmas)

We don’t even have full details yet about how it will react to a plasma pistol shots and besides if we do i personally do not want to rank up to SR-50 just to get extra protection from PP shots.

PP has less ammo and the shots don’t track as much. On the other hand vehicles are faster and more powerfull, so I believe it will be balanced.

Seems most people seem to forget the key aspect here. Why in the world would you START with a plasma Pistol? Sure it can be useful but its generally not a good secondary weapon for a lot of situations, especially with how powerful all the weapons are now in H4.

What it is good for is stopping that 1 guy in the banshee/tank getting 50 kills in a single game cause no one could stop the guy. Finding / using a plasma pistol is too difficult a lot of the times in the chaos. If anything it will save the game, by speeding it up and preventing ridiculous and unfair nonsense from taking over the entire game for 10 minutes straight.

The plasma pistol isn’t ruining the gameplay because the vehicles are probably MORE overkill like the mantis in halo 4. THE MANTIS CAN -Yoink!-…!!!

People could spawn with a plasma pistol in Elite slayer in reach and I don’t recall it preventing the 100+ ghost splatters per game on certain maps

Well I’m going for Operator anyways because I loves me my warthog… and the way I can sway its’ backside bigger projectiles like PP shots and rockets have a harder time tagging me then most. With a half decent gunner I am not too worried… If I do get tagged though I’ll just get out a murder… they are after me and not the warthog itself after all… once PP ponce is dead then I hop back in and I’ll be on my marry way, Tra-la-la!

I know this discussion had ended and everything is good but think about this. you enter in the uber powerful mantis, then before you could even go through half way of the map people start emp you non stop forcing you to leave the mantis to die or stay in the mantis to die.

and this is why no1 can say the mantis is op

Overcharging uses allot of its battery has less tracking and to hit fast moving targets it requires a lead but once you get EMPed once its safe to assume a second is soon to follow. Plus were not sure how long the EMP effect lasts it could just be like a two second delay.
