A few nights ago, I ran into a few people on these forums that believed the plasma pistol doesn’t have as far of a range as people claim.
Sooo…
Wow.
is that the regular plasma pistol or a rare version

Its just a regular one.
Is there a secret to locking on? I try /ss/ and I don’t get nearly the lock-on that my opponents get.

All I did was aim in. I get screwed literally every time I’m in a banshee by the plasma pistol, so I wanted to see for myself how effective it is. A little too effective, in my opinion.

Were those people talking about range versus vehicles or just other opponents on foot? I feel like the PP is as effective as ever against vehicles (possibly too effective judging by your video), but against other Spartans it’s not as good as it has been in the past, which doesn’t bother me personally, just an observation.

Against vehicles. Primarily the banshee.
You shot when he was close and it followed him. You wouldn’t have done the same if he was as far as when it actually hit him. I don’t see a problem. Especially because Banshees are for scrubs.

Still, the distance it traveled to reach him is a pretty far range.
The homing is very impressive on this. Is it possible that the charged bolt might last longer when it it actively chasing something?

That’s the point I was making. The homing range just chases and chases no matter how far they are, as long as you shoot the initial shot while they’re close, they’re screwed unless they can get themselves behind a wall.

You don’t need the lock on I’ve crossmapped ghosts with the pp and kept them there you just need good judgement
