Hear me out!
Yes, it is supposed to remove shields.
I have no issue with that.
I have an issue with them removing all shields no matter what.
This means if you spawn in an oversheild in warzone.
It can INSTANTLY be removed by a single over-charged shot.
This is dumb.
Too powerful.
Make it so it always takes out a single layer of sheilds.
Example:
An oversheild covers half your sheild bar.
You get shot by an overcharged shot.
Your normal shield is now where that oversheild was.
If you really think about it, it might be less powerful than the other plasma pistols. In Halo 1 & 2 you had two layers of OS and the pistol charge still took out your entire shield. It’s called countering your opponent. This gun is not even close to OP. Try playing H2 with the noob combo and then play H5, it might change your perspective.
Lol
The over shield is op in this game. The plasma pistol is one of the very few things that truly counters it.
If you only removed 1 shield the other player would kill you during cool down animation.
The sandbox in Halo 5 is beautifully balanced.
Maybe it depends on what level of OS you use in Warzone. There are 3, were you only using level 1. Just curious because it would make sense for 1 or maybe even 2 levels to be vulnerable to EMP.

What?!?!
Using Plasma Pistol is specifically designed that way as a means to counter teams or players. How is that over powered?
It literally works as designed.
Never thought I’d see the day when the Plasma Pistol, which I’ve never seen anyone else besides me use in Warzone, would be considered “OP,” and for the reason that it negates a Power-Up that literally makes you invincible to every weapon that isn’t a Rocket Launcher or better. Why should you be able to acquire a level 4 REQ, while I can’t counter it unless I have REQ 6? The point of the plasma pistol is not to kill, but to weaken. The fact that you are complaining about something that doesn’t even kill you most of the time is beyond me.
Um, it’s done that in every Halo game…
lol. What? The PP’s sole purpose in the game is to strip shields. Why wouldn’t it strip OS like it always has?
Nothing has changed about it to me. It does its job. It has never been OP but the fact that an OS has been wasted by Plasma Charge may cause people to feel that way because it will cause you to feel powerless against people who have skill with it. Which is one of the reasons why I love it. I could use a Plasma Pistol all day.

i did manage to kill someone legitly with it once.
If there is anything OP about the PP it’s probably the range it has. In arena maps, it can lock on to people completely across the map. It’s definitely a weapon to pick up in BTB to counter vehicles and for abusing its range advantage.
I’d of hated to see what you would say during the Halo 2 days considering that’s where the plasma pistol made its name. The Halo 5 version doesn’t even compare to that one.
What you don’t realize though…it’s a slow projectile, which means it can usually be dodged. Even though it homes, if you time your jump or thrust well, you can escape its tracking properties.
The only issue I can find is when players charge it at point blank and melee, and you really have no chance to counter that. How I would solve that is by giving the Plasma Pistol some splash damage with its overcharge shot. Not like an area of effect to hit multiple targets, I mean right after the impact, it will generate a series of green sparks that can burn through your shields if you’re standing right in front of it. All it does is deal self-damage if you’re too reckless with it.
An overshield is simply another shield on top of your old one, it’s like having two shields. If a plasma pistol that destroys a regular shield then it most definitely can destroy an overshield. It makes sense, your just salty.
Also the plamsa pistol sucks at clocking in the shields.
It’s not too op. It’s fine.

I think it is far weaker in my observation compared tot when it was in earlier releases has not the same duration of use or the same power.
