Is anyone worried that players on your team more interested in making you upset will be stunning your vehicles with plasma pistols every game? This was commonly observed in Invasion and there wasn’t much you could do about it lest you risk being booted.
Do you think (or know if) 343 removed Friendly Fire to compensate, or has some magical coding been done to account for this potential problem? I believe that what can be abused will, and this could become more widespread.
considering I’ll be one of the people with a personal loadout equiped to disable all non infantry specifically, I’ve never had a problem with a teammate emping me purposely. If anyone really gives you a problem improvise, like pushing them into fire, off drops, or even just drop so bullets into him.
The way I see it if I get booted for killing someone who caused me to die I can leave the match knowing justice has been done.
I’m also worried about that, Goat. At least the fact that the PP’s ammo depletes extremely quick (based on the Vortex gameplay video I saw) puts this doubt a bit to rest.
You should get a -10 XP (called friendly fire) deduction for stunning friendly players or vehicles. Each consecutive time you do it the deduction will increase by 10. If you do it enough in a game you’ll be eligible to be booted, at which point you will get -1000XP. If you get booted three times in a day or your total deductions are more than -2400, you will only be able to play with other people who have done the same until a week has passed or you have redeemed yourself.
The plasma pistol runs out of ammo sooo much faster now. A single shot takes away 2% of the battery and you can only overcharge 3 times total with a full batter I believe.
I’ve mentioned this a million times. The internal conflict I have is that Halo needs Friendly Fire but with Friendly Fire comes jagoffs that will plasma pistol your vehicle all game just b.c. they are that pathetic of an individual. I’m thinking that vehicles shouldn’t have the ability to be plasma pistoled by friendlies. But then people will just toss plasma grenades at their teammates b.c. woooo-hoooo you can spawn with up to 3 plasma grenades. I really don’t know what 343i could do to keep friendly fire in but not make it possible that some jagoff could ruin people’s fun… Not having friendly fire doesn’t sit well in my mind. You should be penalized if you’re too awful at aiming the Wraith that you betray a fellow warthog or something. I just don’t know what to think at this point.
reverse friendly fire. whenever you shoot your team, you take the dammage instead. also make the players last 5-10% of health immune to this, so that greifers cant jump in front of your rockets to kill you.

Griefers will always find a way to grief. It’s in their nature. Take away friendly fire and they’ll think of something else. Just look at CoD. It has FF off by default and people still find ways to screw with others.
The only real way I can see to fix this would be to not have it count against people only if they kill you. All damage dealt to teammates should be totalled up. If you deal X damage to teammates in a game they can boot you.
I can’t count how many times I’ve been killed by a teammate’s grenades, rockets, etc, because they were dumb and/or careless. And because an enemy put one single shot in me beforehand it somehow doesn’t count as a betrayal… It’s not right. I really hope they fixed this in H4.

It’s not a fix but it does deter. Also remember how quickly the PP looses power now. It’s 3 or 4 shots and discharged. Reach is 4 or 5. Don’t have my Xbox near to confirm but he PP drains much quicker in both shot usage and charge time than even Reach’s.
It’s not like it’s the H2PP with post H2 vehicle EMPing abilities.
