The Plasma pistol’s charged shot needs to have a little bit faster traveling time in air. Because it has always been the thing in halo, that the plasma pistol is an answer to peoples shields, over shields, and even not all the time, but at times people with power weapons. The Plasma pistol’s charged shot is so slow in the air that it miss most of its shot unless the target is completely still. Which is not often, even at time when I charge up a shot and someone would be strafing back and forth slightly. The charged shot completely misses.
Seeing how the weapons charged shot is slowed down when fired is dishartening. Because it kind of removes the main purpose of the Plasma pistol’s charged shot that’s been a purpose for the Plasma pistol for some time now, which is to drop shields. Though I feel the normal rate of fire for the plasma pistol is great and balanced. The charged shot needs to be a little faster on travel time through the air.
You’re missing because you aren’t leading the shot. The plasma pistol’s charged-up bolt is a powerful tool and should be treated as such. Halo 5’s plasma pistol overcharge was far too easy to land. I think this one gets it just right in terms of leading your enemy and not being able to mindlessly use an overcharge to rip off somebody’s hard-fought overshield.
Why don’t they do what was done in Halo 3 where the bolt would lock on and travel? I personally feel like the plasma pistol has lost all usefulness in Infinite, now if we are talking Needler, that thing is really awesome.
I feel that removing the Plasma pistols EMP effect on vehicles in halo infinite severely hurt the sand box. This is currently my only issue from the whole Tec preview. I understand the new shock weapons are support to fill that role but in big team battle vehicles spawn at a rapid frequent rate and the shock weapons dont keep up. By keep up I mean specifically the spawn time of the weapons paired with the increase of enemy Spartans per team. It is very difficult to hold that weapon long enough before it changes hands. After playing games where i forced myself to only use the EMP mechanic I rarely stopped the vehicles. Once again I need to specify This apply more late game when air vehicles start to spawn, it creates a power vacuum. This is noticeable by grapple jacks being used more frequently and with more success to stop air vehicles than the EMP. The next part is objectively more a nit pick but the energy weapons have severely less impact on the battle field in infinite and the small change of re-adding the Plasma pistols Emp would make the energy weapons feel more significant and would help with BTB balance when air vehicles start spawn in the sandbox.
Yo,
So, why did the ability to stun vehicles get removed?
Best,

'nother thread says it was a bug, but I haven’t seen anything official on that - though a correct-me-if-I’m-wrong would be lovely here.
There are a lot of issues holding the plasma pistol back from being a viable weapon. I get the shock rifle and dynamo grenade now do have the EMP effect so having another weapon doing the same thing would be a little crazy but the thing is, how did the pistol all of sudden lose it’s ability to work as an EMP? It doesn’t make a lot of sense, in gameplay or in lore. It’s not even that good for noob-combos. Now that it’s also slower and has little to no tracking, I’m legitimately wondering why they didn’t just cut it from the game or at least try to evolve it into a different type of plasma pistol the same why they did with the Carbine.

The plasma pistol EMP was never really a lore thing, just a gameplay mechanic one. But yeah the gun needs other areas buffed to make up for it. Specifically it’s semi-auto mode should definitely be strong enough to stand on its own two feet, since it’s taking center stage in a game with no plasma rifle/equivalent. And it’s overcharge should do something new to vehicles, like instantly cripple it’s movement by destroying several tires/thrusters or be able to instantly drain the shields of all passengers in a single hit.
